Call of the Desert, The Queen of Hanradesh Arises [Luxia, Soren]
       By: admin 1 Date: September 8, 2013, 12:36 am

The jungle was always alive with the sound of the life that
resided within. The river had carved its was deeper into the
bedrock these last eight years, becoming more formidable and
impressive. Near to the river was a sunlit meadow, where the
trees gave the grass some room to grow. In the middle of the
grass sat Luxia, a calm settled around her. Nearby sat Soren on
a lower branch of a tree. He was watching her with a smile.
This was the day, the day she took the right of passage, and
       became the Queen of Hanradesh.

Luxia meditated quietly, blocking out the sounds of nature, the
wind blowing through the long strands of blonde and green hair
and even ignoring the watchful presence of Soren. It had been a
long and tiring 8 years of being away from home and training.
Settled across her lap was Jade of the Moon staff that would've
been given to her today by her mother. Since the ritual she has
not been able to fully utilize the staffs power despite her
training, something that has caused her many moments of
frustration." How am I to take my place on the throne if I can't
even use the staff, I am the rightful heir and it has
acknowledged that through the ritual but still...I still can not
wield it completely" she thought, she took the staff into her
hand and stood up. Perhaps it knows how I truly
feel...regardless I will have my revenge on the demons who
destroyed my home land with or without the staffs power!" she
didn't share her thoughts on how she felt about becoming the
queen and instead focused herself on training and the desire for
       revenge.
She opened her eyes and turned to look at Soren and smiled,
though she had grown she still had traces of the child she'd
once been. Her strands of hair continued to defy gravity and she
still carried the willingness to learn. Though now her eyes
carried a sadness and anger to them "What are we doing today
Soren? More training?" she asked and twirled the staff.

Soren watched her mediation in silence. He knew better than to
interrupt this part of her daily routine. His back was propped
against the tree trunk as he watched the young woman. As she
turned to him and smiled he agilely hopped down from the tree
and landed softly on the ground. A slight smirk settled on his
lips. "You make it sound like all we do is train." He teased
lightly, before shaking his head. "Today...might be a bit
       different."

The staff slowed to a stop and she held it loosely in her hand.
"Oh? What will we be doing today then?" she asked, eyebrow
raised. "I can't think of anything else in mind if it isn't
       training."

Soren was quiet for a moment as he crossed his arms in front of
his chest. He gave her a soft smile. "Well....I'm sure you
know the significance of today......" He spoke quietly, knowing
the pain that could be tied to the day.

Her hand tightened on the staff in response. "Today the staff
would have been handed down to me in preparation of my future
crowning." she said and turned away. "Though with their deaths
this day has no real point anymore. What should have been a
joyous ceremony has already been tarnished." she shrugged and
       looked up at the sky.

Soren sighed softly, "It is not the same that it would have
been, but it is still a significant day. It is not just the
ceremony that is important this day."

"I see....so what else is important then?" she asked, turning
       back around to face him.

Soren gave a small nod. "Every wielder of the Jade of the Moon
must go through their right of passage. It is part of the
ritual of passing down the staff. It isn't always spoken of,
because it is a test for the new ruler to pass." He spoke
calmly. It was part of tradition, each wielder must pass this
test to fully bond with the weapon. As it isn't something that
can be studied for, it is kept from the heirs until the time at
       which the staff is passed.

Her eyes widened and she looked at the staff "There is also a
test? What do I need to do then?" she asked and looked at him.
"Is that the reason I've been unable to wield the staff
properly? So my feelings did not play a part...or perhaps they
still do. I wish mother were here to explain this fully." she
       thought and sighed softly.
