An arm curled around him, bringing him into a light hug.
"Lance, there is nothing you did to cause this. Demon's methods
and reasons are destruction." She was quiet for a long moment.
"I don't know why everyone had to die, but I know one thing.
This won't go unpunished. The demons will not win."

Lance nodded and wiped away his tears. His eyes filled with
determination." I'm the sole heir to the Vatras kingdom,
with..." the words wouldn't leave his mouth. He could feel his
eyes starting to string again." I can't stand around crying..."

A small smile crossed her lips at his determination. "You are,
and you will take your birthright." As his eyes started to well
again she wrapped her arm around him. "I think for the moment,
what you should do is rest. How about you sleep, and I'll keep
watch."

pillow. "Then you should rest young master."

Lance nodded and place his head on the make shift pillow. He was
soon a sleep.

As the young heir fell asleep, Airin kept an eye on him and
their surroundings. Pulling over the cloth wrapped item, she
moved the cloth to revel the hilt of a katana. It had the crest
of the Vatras kingdom on it. She sighed and leaned her head
back. Soon, her young master would need to take the sword, and
become stronger than even he knew he was capable of. With a
soft sigh she watched the stars and let the boy sleep.
