At that she struggled further "They aren't gone, stop lying and
being a jerk. They can't be gone! Mother and father are the
strongest fighters so they...they just can't be gone." she said
crying. "If you don't go back I'll hate you forever!"

As he ran, his pace never slowed. He moved her head up so she
could see his eyes. Bleary and worried, his face betrayed his
emotions. He quickly darted down the back hallways, making his
way towards the stables. "Luxia, going back will only end in
more bloodshed. The demons were there for a reason. If you're
going to hate me, its still what I am willing to do to make sure
you are safe. Your safety is my only concern." His words were
held his truth. He only called her by her first name like this
when it was really important. He had made a promise to her
parents, he would protect her no matter what......Even if it
meant that she would hold it against him.

She looked at him and gave up struggling "I hate this, it isn't
fair." she shut her eyes and cried softly.

He held her close on instinct, the brother instinct in full
force. "Its not Xia, nothing about this is fair, but losing
your life isn't going to help." There was a saddled horse
already waiting in the stables. Helping the young heiress onto
the horse, Soren quickly pulled himself up afterwards. The
object he picked up slung over his back, Luxia was positioned in
front of him. With a quick kick the horse lunged forward.

She leaned back against him, eyes still shut as she retreated
into herself in order to process everything. She no longer cared
for where they were going, only knowing they were leaving her
home and that her parents were dead.

Soren remained silent as the young heiress retreated. He knew
there was nothing he could do at this moment to ease the pain.
To cope with such a thing, when one is so young. Letting out a
soft breath he spurred the horse forward into the sands.
Cresting the nearest dune the castle faded from view. Two
things were certain, Luxia was alive, and one day she would
       return.
       -the end-
