       Hi all,
What stretching Mathematics and English targets questions do you
       have?

A question that has come up a couple of times (and I have tried
       to find the answer to???)
Learners in a cohort (such as mine...L4 Investment Operations
Specialist - IOC) can be set stretch English targets by virtue
of the fact that they are writing up evidence (project
write-ups, emails and other written documentation) and therefore
spell-checking, formatting etc is fairly straightforward.
however, if there are limited or no Mathematics components on an
       ongoing or regular basis, then:
       - What is the process then?
       - How do we test/stretch this maths component if it is not part
of their study or learning outcomes focus?
       - Do I have to set them tasks specifically related to reaching a
certain standard above and beyond what they have already
achieved (and are exempted from functional skills
       English/Maths)?

       Thanks James.
I am getting to the bottom of this and will provide guidance
       shortly.

I am telling mine to put their hands in their pockets and spend
a tenner on The Economist Style Guide.

Grammar, sentence structure and all Financial/Economics/Politics

Thanks Nick - I just bought out of interest from Amazon.
Great reviews. I got it on Amazon Prime too.

       Hi James,
Have you analysed all of the KSB learning objectives?
If there's no objectives that can leverage mathematics, then you
can only focus on English stretching targets as you are
       currently doing.
Perhaps, if you post all the KSBs here, we can dissect to see if
we can call out any mathematics for future learning objectives.
An "interesting" approach I've taken for my learners is to look
at their .xls worksheets where they are submitting as evidence.
I review for any formula's to see if they can make them better.
I say interesting because I love excel!
       Hope that helps?
       Sam
