       Neon sign blamed for small fire at northwest valley business

       Las Vegas Fire and Rescue
       A small fire did about $5,000 in damage Sunday at The Hydro
       Store, 7145 W. Ann Road.
       A neon sign ignited a small fire Sunday morning at a northwest
       valley store that sells equipment for growing plants indoors,
       fire officials said.
       Las Vegas Fire and Rescue crews arrived at 9:19 a.m. to The
       Hydro Store at 7145 W. Ann Road near U.S. 95. after receiving
       multiple calls reporting a fire.
       Fire officials said a neon sign hanging in the store-front
       window caught fire and fell onto a plastic growing device, which
       melted and produced heavy smoke.
       No one was inside the store at the time, officials said.
       Firefighters forced entry through a back door and extinguished
       the blaze within a minute.
       Fire investigators ruled the blaze accidental, caused by an
       electrical problem. The fire did $5,000 worth of damage to the
       front of the store.
