1887-Box 51 at Cameron and Herr Streets was turned in ten
minutes to one in the morning. A frame stable owned and
operated by George Reading on Cumberland St. near 11th(Cameron)
was fully involved and a total loss. One horse, harness and a
quantity of feed were destroyed with a loss of $200. The
unpaved streets were very muddy do to spring rains slowing the
apparatus response considerably. The Citizen Engine No. 3 was
the only company able to render any appreciable service.
