NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Investigators said the apartment fire
Monday evening in Norfolk that displaced five people was ruled
       arson.
The fire was reported around 5:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of
Vernon Drive in Berkley, Norfolk Fire Department spokesman Harry
       Worley said.
Firefighters arrived seven minutes later to find heavy smoke
showing from the first floor bedroom area of a two-story
       apartment building.
Worley said fire crews were able to get inside and knock the
fire down. The fire was primarily confined to the bedroom area,
but there was some smoke and heat damage to the rest of the
       apartment.
One woman was on the second floor and was able to get out before
       firefighters arrived.
Two women and three children were displaced. The Red Cross is
       being called for assistance.
       No one was hurt.
Worley said investigators are seeking any information that might
       lead to an arrest.
