       Operation Report: Search and Destroy Enemy Armor

       Operation Location: Takistan
       Operation Objective: Destroy enemy armored vehicles, secondary
       objectives were to destroy enemy AAA and to rescue civilian
       hostages
       Operation Outcome: Enemy Anti Aircraft Artillery was destroyed,
       as well as 2 BTR 60’s along with 20-30 enemy foot mobile
       casualties. Enemy T-55A’s we’re not destroyed, civilians not
       rescued. Loss of 3 vehicle assets and 10 men on our side, 2
       Stykers and one MRAP due to unprecedented amount of enemy RPG’s.
       Primary objective not completed fully, one secondary objective
       completed, and another failed.
       Operation Description:
       To start, we had originally conflicted over the problems that
       the AO had presented to us. It was suggested that we move in
       through the mountains West of the town, then push down the
       mountain into it after taking out one enemy AAA position. The
       main problem was that pushing down that mountain would’ve been
       suicidal. In turn, with the help of 2 unidentified PMC’s, a
       combined arms assault was planned using the MRAP as cover for
       the PMC’s as they pushed forward, while another team moved West
       and destroyed the enemy AAA emplacement. We conducted this, and
       pushed up until the driver was shot out of the driver’s seat and
       the gunner was killed, both teams regrouped and retreated,
       picking up the Stryker to use this time. All forces pushed
       through the valley in an attempt to break through. We were once
       again repelled by enemy RPG fire and two enemy BTR’s, both which
       we destroyed. In one last attempt, we tried again, however the
       Stryker crew pushed out of range for the infantry to cover them,
       and in turn drove too far ahead of the advancing infantry. This
       in turn caused the Stryker to be ambushed and destroyed.
       Afterwards, we had come down to the decision that we had taken
       far to many casualties, and decided against any further attacks.
