What do you think of Chuami and Kurugum?

CHUAMI, LEFT, AND KURUGUM, RIGHT
The two new characters, Chuami and Kurugum, introduced and
focused on in the audio drama -Will-, are very good friends yet
seemingly opposites.
Chuami is hotheaded, strong in her beliefs, and is rather brash
and outspoken. She openly questions people of authority and
respect, but also makes keen observations about unusual things.
She narrates the audio drama.
Kurugum is respectful, obedient, and could even be described as
meek. He quietly follows orders and makes it a priority of his
to help others and hold high what he has been taught. He
partners with Chuami throughout the audio drama.
Both are members of the Spirian Council, and both are seventeen
years of age. However, Kurugum is a sender; while summoners
formerly used to fulfill the dual role of summoning and sending,
there are no more fayth, and so Kurugum settled for being a
sender despite his wishes to summon.
What do you think of these characters? Do you like them? What
about their relationship?
What affect and roles do you think these characters will have on
the plot of a supposed FFX-3, if at all?

I reckon the two may very well have roles in Final Fantasy X-3.
If they did have roles in X-3, what sort of weapons should they
have?

I believe Kurugum will have the role of the second summoner in
the sex-fayth method. Yuna will use him, since the occurrence of
the revelation of the sex-fayth method and his character must
have a connection.
Being a sender, I don't know if Kurugum will even fight; he
could just be a story-intensive character. However, if he does
battle, I'm sure he'll be a tactical healer as Yuna was in the
first game; mainly protective spells and healing magic. It'll
saddle him with a magical rod or staff of some sort.
Chuami I believe is the wildcard in this sex-fayth scenario.
She'll incorporate herself in somehow and stop the deeds from
taking place. Being so hotheaded and independent, she must be
involved in an interruption of dogma in some way.
As such, I believe she'll use offensive talents. Magic or melee,
I don't know. Perhaps even ranged, if the bill fits. I
personally believe she'll lean towards melee, however. Her
personality gives way to being brash and open, which makes me
assume a melee fighting style.
Giving the fact that she's claiming to be Auron's daughter, she
might take after his fighting style; big old sword and lots of
HP. She could be a fast swordsmen a la Tidus or a ranging
attacker a la Wakka, too, though, and could be a black mage a la
Lulu if the melee theory is incorrect.
What do you think?
There's very little information to go on concerning their
fighting styles, if they fight at all.

Hmm.....I do agree with you that it is pretty difficult to
determine what sort of weapons they will use and if they are
playable in X-3.
For Kurgam, I think he does look more like a magic type user.
For Chuami, like you've stated, if she claims to be the daughter
of Auron, then maybe she could wield a sword like weapon.

I believe it's a safe bet to give Kurugum a protective healer
type rolecast.
Chuami is a bit more out in the open, but she'll be offensive
type given her fiery personality.
Also, although it may just be me, Kurugum looks a healthy bit
like Seymour, does he not?
I know people in Spira have strange hairstyles and looks, but he
also looks very young to be seventeen.

The first thing that went through my mind when I read a fan
translation of the audio drama was that Chuami and Kurugum are
just like Tidus and Yuna, except in the opposite gender role.

I think Tidus can be described like this as well...and it seems
that Chuami has a father complex just like how Tidus had one
with his dad, Jecht

This also describes Yuna from X, and he even would have been a
summoner like Yuna.
While I think it's interesting to see what Tidus and Yuna's
characters would have been if they were in the opposite gender,
I hope they add more character development to them and
differentiate them from Tidus and Yuna when/if this story is
continued as a novel, manga, or even a sequel game (although
looking at the info so far of the novel in the other thread, I
hope it just continues as a novel...while interesting it seems a
bit dark and mature for a final fantasy game imo).

I personally hope it gets turned into a third game.
There's a lot of potential there, and I'd love to see it
expanded on in an interactive, engaging format.
No doubt Chuami and Kurugum will grow on their own to be more
than just archetypes of characters if the story is advanced. I
want to see what impact they have on post-Sin Spira. The
possibilities are quite literally endless.
So many pathways, and they just need to be explored by fans to
get the excitement going.

Although, at the moment I prefer it be continue in another media
form besides a game sequel, I think I would still play a sequel
so I could get some clarification on the information that's been
presented so far...It seems that a lot FFX/X-2 fans (including
myself) are having mix feelings about what is being
presented/introduced of the story for this sequel.

I hope so, especially for Kurugum, I wouldn't really want to see
another Yuna from X, I don't know what it is but there was
something about her character/personality that I didn't like at
times...so I would really hate to see a character like that
again. I've read here and in other forums how people already
don't seem to like Chuami's character but I think that's the
type of character I like, well what's been present of her so
far.
Well since Sin is back wouldn't it be what impact they would
have on Spira during the reborn Sin.....

I'm faithful that Nojima will have justification and reason for
whatever he's seemingly throwing under the bus, which in this
case my main problem is with the consistency of Yuna's
character.
Three months prior to the novella, she was overjoyed with
Tidus's presence.
Then, in the novella, she's portrayed as harsh and cruel, if
very preliminary translations are to be trusted.
Something of significant importance must've happened between
those three months. I just wonder what...
Kurugum and Chuami look mighty interesting! They have lots of
potential.
They look like seeds that have been bought out of the Yuna and
Tiida brands respectively, but given time to grow they will
develop into very different plants, I believe.

Based on the audio drama, I can live with them being part of the
cast of the next game (or whatever it will be). However, I DO
NOT want either of them, especially Chuami as in the narration
of the drama, to be the main protagonist. I can barely handle
Chuami's attitude as it is.
