I'm still on the fence on this one tbqh ??? I feel like SE
should have left FFX-2 they way it is 'cause I like happy
endings and I really like the characters' growth in that game,
but at the same time I wonder how FFX-3 will turn out. I just
hope the part about Yuna liking someone else is just an excuse
to exclude Tidus out of her journey to beat Sin, I don't want
that poor guy to get NTR'd (I'm saying this as someone who has
been shipping these two since a teenager lol) and I hope he
won't fade again after beating Sin :'(

From what we've seen so far, it's intended to be a darker game
than the second, more closely following the scandal and
       corruption of the first game.
It's clear, however, that presumed happy endings have been
shattered. Eventual happy endings may happen, but the way people
thought it went down after FFX-2 has been extremely challenged
       and uprooted.
The main reason for so much negative Japanese reaction is due to
the shattering of their notions of how the characters left off.
It's an understandable response, after reading what's been
detailed in the novella and what's to follow plotwise with the
       audio drama.

I'm in a mix between I'm all up for it and hesitant.
       I generally wouldn't mind having X-3 although I am a bit
concerned with where Square-Enix is set to take the direction of
X-3. All I'm just hoping that X-3 will explain the events taken
place after the bonus audio and hopefully a good story.

I personally believe they can make a good game out of what
they've shown us so far. Regardless of the novella events, which
I don't think are that bad, the genuine material of the audio
drama makes for a few good plot points. Definitely something you
can build a solid third game around.
That doesn't mean I want them going head-on barreling into it,
however. I'm more hesitant, like you; I see the potential for
them to make a good game, but they can always ruin it as they
       have previous titles.
I'm going to support any new developments regardless, however. I
want to see this story finished, regardless of it's outcome,
even if it may not vibe with me.

@Internal Medicine Doctor - I agree with you.
Do you think it would've worked better if this was a pre-quel
game (based on the events of Jecht, Braska and Auron?)

The problem with such a game is that we all know how it was
going to turn out. FFX is praised universally for it's story,
and having one of it's successors be a precursor to a plot
already known would be thought of as not living up to series
       expectations.
I personally would very much like to see a prequel with the
       Braskian trio.
It wouldn't have to be a ground-breaking game, or anything with
huge, suspensful developments; it would be more a game to enjoy
and appreciate the little nuances and details of their journey.
A game that focuses more on it's gameplay and interplay between
characters rather than the overall gravity of the story.
That I believe, however, is the second main roadblock to making
a prequel as seen through the eyes of a SE higherup.
They'd need engaging gameplay ideals. Something not too far from
the first two, but not something as to completely throw off the
fan base. I don't know what direction they'd go for that, seeing
as how Braska, Auron and Jecht are already rolecast in specific
battle types; no new classes to invigorate the formula.
I'd still like to see a prequel, though. If done well, people
would happily accept it as canon for it's smaller details
concerning the journey and it would be held as not a huge
advancement in Final Fantasy history but a very enjoyable detour
       of it's normal formula.
It makes me wonder, however, what they're going to do for FFX-3
       gameplay, especially concerning the combat.

Lame... this story ended 10 years ago. I am okay to see them,
but I don't see any good point so far. It's too late, so I hope
they can make it up on FFX-3. I hope FF doesn't go for some sort
of coterie game.... Seriously, NTR would be really terrible
       after the FFX and FFX-2.

I feel uncomfortable, I mean FF X is my favourite game . X was
perfect and X-2 was pushing it but somehow they managed to pull
it off and the ending was beautiful. I don't see any reason at
all to bring this game up again...
With FF 13-2 they had a very dark ending, like nothing i've
seen in the other games in the FF series (I haven't played every
game so pardon me if I'm wrong) so it feels like they loved
having a dark ending and they're like "Dudes, what else can we
make dark and twisted? I know. Let's revive X!" I say that
because from the info that is out so far, It looks like it will
       be a veeery dark game.
So... if you really have to go for it, do not screw it up.

FFX is my favorite FF and when i watch the audio drama i
honestly got excited for the idea of going back to the FFX world
but then i found out about the novella and when i heard how most
of it was written i thought what?! it just didnt sound like the
stuff you would expect from a Final Fantasy story even the
reviews for the novella speak for itself but i like the way the
audio drama has been set up so IF FFX-3 does happen i hope some
of the events in the novella get alterations for the story
