What do you fellas think of Last Mission?
For those of you who have played the English patch of the
International game, or just watched the videos online, what are
your thoughts on the story and general attitude of Last Mission?
and how do you think Yuna's attitude towards Tidus there ties
into this new information we've discovered?

Well, I am a pretty big fan of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon
series, and thus I would likely be a fan of Last Mission as
well.
It actually looks pretty fun, especially with the way the
dresspheres are implemented into it. I hear that the final boss
(the 80th? floor) is actually really hard as well. Can't wait
until the English footage, or at least the Japanese footage with
the offical English subtitles, is released. I wanna see/hear how
they handle the dialogue and voice acting after all these years,
since Hedy Burress and Tara Strong have obviously improved since
then.
I have to admit though, while I enjoy all of this not-so-subtle
TidusxYuna fluff in the cutscenes, it makes X-2.5 and Will seem
incredibly... off, and actually pretty eerie. We go from Yuna
gushing all over Tidus, in front of her two closest friends mind
you, to her not even kissing him when the two are most likely
alone (though Yuna thinks otherwise). Granted, the 2 latest
translations from the novel doesn't make Tidus and Yuna seem as
OOC as we had previously speculated, but maybe's there's more
going on. Those Japanese reviews on Amazon which said that they
hated Yuna in the novel, couldn't have been because she was a
little stand-offish. Don't forget the amounts of sympathy for
Tidus, as well. Something must be seriously wrong in there; why
else would the novel gain so much negative feedback? We, for now
at least, have already debunked the necrophiliac elements and
Tidus getting treated like a spayed dog. (It's a shame the
blitzbomb thing was true, though...)
Nevertheless, Last Mission is interesting, especially when you
look at Yadonoki Tower's design. There'll be fanfiction-galore
when this hits the West, I bet. As for the inconsistent Yuna
portrayal... well, the only thing we can do is wait for
KaminaSan to receive her copy of the novel. She is our
translator, after all. :P

I'm not too sure myself, either, about the dynamics of Yuna's
character.
The page scan translations we've received so far have painted
her as teasing, not harsh and cruel as people were proclaiming.
The Japanese reviews indicate something more severe going on, so
we must be missing something.
Or Nojima has some out-of-text explaining to do.
More importantly, we don't know how faithful Nojima actually is
to Yuna as of now, because we don't know where the novella fits
in the timeline in respect to Last Mission or the perfect
ending.
We can assume that if the novella takes place after Last
Mission, Yuna started to faulter in her feelings towards Tidus,
and wanted to rekindle them by going on a trip. However, that
has improbabilities; why would Yuna only start to question her
feelings concerning Tidus three months past them being happily
living together?
How about if this takes place before Last Mission?
We can assume that the events in the novella take place, Yuna's
relationship with Tidus is remedied, and they're happy and
lovely together afterwards, as indicated through Last Mission's
dialogue. However, in the audio drama, which is known to take
place a year after the events of FFX-2, Yuna's attitude in
general seems... strange, and off-putting towards Tidus.
With the pre-Last Mission theory, we must take the liberties and
state that sometime in the nine months between Last Mission and
the audio drama, something happens which causes Yuna to
ostensibly pray fervently to a religion she denounced three
years earlier.
Lots of unresolved cause-and-effect scenarios.
