It will be interesting what the Town Council have to say about
       the proposal.

The Town Council as a body will not have a view. Individual
Councillors will have. I am sure will express their views when
       the proposal becomes a
reality, at present it is at the consultation stage.

Here is an interesting link to the Guardian newspaper.
  HTML http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2012/may/29/3m-young-adults-live-parents
Three million young adults in the UK living with their parents
       because they cannot afford housing.
Featherstone's answer is not to build any homes that they CAN
afford but to build more homes they CANNOT afford.
       Tremendous.

Outline planning has been applied for Pontefract Road (land off)
the application is to build 158 houses and clear the allotments
and put a access road onto Pontefract road at the Jubilee steps.
eventually the total amount of houses is 297and NOT 450. Any
support or opposition needs to be lodged with WMDC Planning by
       Nov 2nd.
If anyone wants to discuss this I suggest you contact your
District Councillors Graham Isherwood, Dick Taylor or June
       Cliffe.
