       Open Cast Mining at Sharlston

       There is a proposal to opencast all the fields on the Wakefield
       side of New Sharlston. The poor folk who live there had
       opencasting up to their backdoors on the pit site and now UK
       coal want to Opencast up to their front doors. We didnt need
       coal when they shut the pit and put 1000 men out of work or
       stacking shelves in Asda. Surprise Surprise Now we need it and
       are not bothered how much inconvenience they cause getting it.
       In their wisdom they have decided we dont need Hell Lane but
       will reinstate it with a Bridleway that will be great for all
       the hundreds of Horse riders in New Sharlston we should go down
       on our knees and thank them so much, i am overwhelmed at their
       generosity by the way none of the executives at UK Coal live in
       New Sharlston what a surprise. The whole thing sticks in my
       throat and I find it appalling..
       If you think as I do, get in touch with your District
       Councillors who are working with residents to fight this
       proposal.

       The opposition to this is now gathering apace. People were being
       told by UK Coal that there is nothing they can do this is
       rubbish there is plenty as can be seen on Facebook gohave a
       look. Have your say.

       Never mind whats happening in Sharlston what about the 450 homes
       and 2000 people we're going to be laden with. Oh, sorry I forgot
       - you have to tow the party line and can't use the brains you
       were born with.
       A government of the people, by the people and for the people -
       not a government for you, who you support and against the
       people.
