What do you see as affordable? I see affordable at less than
£400 a month, if they are semi's that are £120,000+ then thats
not affordable or indeed viable for young people in Feath on
minimum wages of £5.80 an hour. These people earn £200 a week
less tax which leaves them about £150 a week. If they have to
pay £400 a month to live in a council house and they can't
really afford that then how the hell can they afford £600 a
month for a 120 grand semi?
Some young people will never ever be able to leave home in the
forseeable future and never have an opportunity to own their
home or even rent one for that matter. Its not just the cost of
housing its the fact that some daft bastard introduced a minimum
wage thinking it would stop young people being taken advantage
of, instead it had the effect of every employer in the Country
thinking 'I'm gonna pay ALL my staff the minimum wage, what a
       good idea'.
Now we've got 40-50 year olds on £5.80 an hour when previously
they were on 8 and 9 quid an hour. It kind of set the president
of how people would be paid in the future and if we won't work
for that money there's plenty of Polish folk that will.
That minimum wage decision thrust this Country back into poverty
almost over night and until someone raises it to 8 quid an hour
we are going to have more and more poverty.
We are back in the 1930's and heading for Victorian britain with
       its slave labour.

I dont think we have to worry much longer the tories are talking
about doing away with it so they will then be able to pay even
