       Regeneration of the Town
       By: thebest4fev Date: October 5, 2012, 10:18 am

I for one am getting fed up of folk always decrying this Town
its about time we talked up the town rather than talking it
       down.
The Green Lane link road will be going in soon this will
hopefully stop HGV coming down Station Lane.
Girnhill Lane development "hopefully" will at last be underway
anytime now depending on how long it takes to come to a
settlement with the three householders that are left. CPO is
       16th and 17th October.
A new large supermarket is earmarked for the old Citra pop site.
Councillors are currently pressing for a HGV ban to be put on
       Ackworth road.
Verner Street is to finally be done up both in the houses and
the area around them this will mean that all WDH houses in the
town will have been renovated and no one should be living in
       squalor.
Yes I know there is still the problem of the old Kwik Save site
but things are on the up thats my opinion anyway.

Some good news items there but I would be concerned about
another Supermarket in Feath. We already have a Supermarket and
I don't see the point in having another. The land that used to
be the pop factory could be used for some cheap houses to
counter balance ten bob millionaires row thats going in up
Purston that none of us will be able to afford.

Are you sure about millionaires row i believe there is
affordable housing to be built and the planning hasnt yet been
passed. There is the outcry about putting hundreds more cars
onto a carpark and the chaos it could cause this could be a
battle royal if first reports are to be believed.

If all tha other housing built recently in the 5 towns is owt to
go by they'll be 3 and 4 bedroomed detached.

I've heard quite a few people comment that the lidl is ok for
some things but its no good for doing a full shop, our lass gets
a few things from there but she goes to ponte for a big shop,i
think we need a big popular supermarket such as
       asda,tesco,morrisons ect ;D

My cup is neither half full or half empty, I'm looking at this
from facts. The facts are that no cheap housing has been
developed in the 5 towns on an half decent basis. All we have
are a few pokey houses at lister close.
Companies have been allowed to throw houses up all over the
place that locals can't afford and are occupied by out of
towners. Therefore the emphasis is to provide for the wealthy
and not the poor. If you can prove me wrong then go ahead.
Meanwhile, perhaps you could try and persuade people that
existing town occupants are more important than bringing in the
middle classes. Well I doubt that you would because you don't
care about poor people anymore - no one does. They are simply in
the way of future plans. Flatten all the council houses in Fev
and have done with it, then bring em all in from elsewhere.
i boloxed my reply up earlier, sorry

the development on Featherstone Lane "old Gaunsons" has 33
affordable houses out of the 54 built fact.

Just been looking at the plans that have been passed for the
development of Girnhill estate there is quite a lot of
affordable housing planned for there. All being well this work
should start soon . Once the CPO has been sorted on 16th and
       17th October. ;) ::)
