       It's 3 o' clock in the trench today, regular guard shuffle in
       there's a young boy standing next to me, shaking from almost
       every limb

       Now Jon with the bombs is a friend of mine, he tells them the
       drinks are from me
       and his quick witted smokes, let us light up a few folks, but
       there's somewhere were he'd rather be
       he says 'sir I believe this is killing me' as the smile ran away
       from his face

       Now Paul is a real pice of dirt and grit, who "never had time

       and he's talking with Davie, who's still in the navy and
       certainly will be for life
       And the tank crews are practising politics, whilst the
       conscripts slowly get stoned,
       yes they're sharing a drink they call loneliness, but its better
       than drinking alone.

       It's a pretty good army in the trench today, and a commander
       gives me a smile
       cause he knows that it's me they'll be trying to flee, and
       forget xenos scum for a while
       And the bolt pistol sounds like a cannon shot, the vox caster
       smells full of p!ss,
       and they sit in their holes while they all console, and say man,
       what is he doing here?
