Mine is serial 0004 made by Fender/Jackson factory.
The bridge was designed to keep the e string from slippin off
       the roller.
You can seeit bein play @ Tom's V FanFest in 2011:

The Hunt is 1980 I think. It's ok...probly needs neck
adjustment and the truss rod was rattlin so that had 2 b
       tighten.
It's old by now and the pups are noisy....no noiseless back
       then.
I luv the kayler trem tho.

       HI Walt,
What do the two small switches on the Hunt do?

Switches turn the PUPs on/off and put them in or out of phase.
Play w/them and adjust the sound to your taste.

Thanks Walt, for the link to the V Fan Fest 2011. Enjoyed the
music. You have a nice Hitchhiker. Lots of talented musicians.
       Where did that take place?
       Thanks, JourneyFox

       Thanks tabalt11,
I'll keep checking for updates. I'm happy with the Wilson Bros.
guitars that I have now, but I sure would like one
of the American made custom one's, when they become available.
One of the red one's I have now will be going
to my son next year. I did hear through the grapevine that Don
Wilson is very happy with the prototype 0f the
50th. Should be a good one.
       Thanks again,
       JourneyFox

Thanx, JF. GWG is down to 5 members now.
Didn't have enuf for the 6th member 2 do and he's more intrested
in 50's vocals. Even more of a niche market than instros.

JourneyFox, finally heard back from TIM WILSON, Don's son
with a few more details 'bout that 'special' 50th Ann. guitar:
"Tom, good to hear from you & sorry I took so long gettin'
back to you. Yes we're workin' on the new all American
hand made VENTURES CUSTOM MODEL USA, the first since
early '65 before they were being made in the Mosrite factory.
Needless to say we are so very excited 'bout the project. It
will truly be one of the finest Ventures Models ever built- with
lots of amazin' features- 'specially the pickups."
"Now we are close to gettin' production going. Get ready for
the master piece, probably lookin' at late June/early July. I
should have more to say in a month or so!"
       Take care, Tim Wilson

       Thanks tabalt11,
I just got an email from Tim today also. He gave me the same
news. Yahoo!!! You're a step ahead of me on the info. I
       appreciate it.
I don't know if I'll ever get a chance to meet anyone in this
group. Would love to play guitar with you. That would be a huge
       highlight
for me. Good to know there's lots of fans of The Ventures still.
       Great bunch of people.
       Thanks, JourneyFox
