New American made Ventures 50th anniversary guitar
By: JourneyFox Date: March 17, 2013, 10:17 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Good Day, Venture Fans
JourneyFox here, just joined. I've been a Ventures fan since the
early 60's. The Ventures and Duane Eddy influenced me, to want
to play guitar. Stars of the Grand Ole Opry also caught my
attention. I can play guitar okay, but it takes me sometime to
learn
the more demanding Ventures songs. Took me a month to learn
Slaughter On 10th Avenue, watching the instructional video the
Ventures produced with Dr. K. Project. Since I can't understand
the Japanese language, I had to play the video several times
over
while closely observing his hands. Whew!, but it was worth it.
Any way, to my question. As I'm sure many of you know, The
Ventures are going to have a 50th anniversary American made
guitar available sometime. Does anyone know when, and will it
be advertised on their guitar web site, like the other Wilson
Bros. guitars? Looking forward to hearing from someone soon.
Thanks
JourneyFox

Welcome aboard fellow Ventures fan. I'm Tom-
co-moderator of the site. Walt will officially
welcome you shortly.
To the best of my knowledge Don's son Tim Wilson
is heading up the production of the 50th Anniversary
guitar you speak of & I believe they are very close to
'marketing' the beauty. The website would be one of
the first places to carry details.
Others here on the forum can provide more specific info on
this topic I'm sure. How 'bout it gang!

Welcome, JF.
Are you currently playing in a band and/or do you have any
recordings of your playing posted anywhere?

Thanks Walt,
No I'm not in a band. I play for my own enjoyment, along with
backing tracks and cd, also YouTube. I'll be 66 in May, and I
haven't
met anyone in my area that would want to get together and play
Ventures music. I live in Upper Michigan, the U.P. Lots!!! of
snow now.
Looking forward to spring and summer.
Bye for now

Thanks for posting pix.
I have 1 of those 2.
Mine has the interim bridge....the one after the original.
I also have a Hunt guitar:

You're welcome, wstanger
What year is your Hitchhiker. Mine was just made. It's serial #
is 130003. Great guitar. Waiting for the updated Vibrato, or
tremolo
bridge for it. Nokie has to get the patent on it. I'm not
familiar with the interim bridge, also not sure what the
original one was like.
The current bridge is a good one. Hope to get adjustment
instructions for it sometime soon. Do you have any adjustment or
set-up
specs. for the guitar? I raised the neck pickup some, as I like
an even sound from both pickups. It was set quite low, when I
got the
guitar. What a nice looking Hunt guitar. Nicest one I've seen.
What year is it? How do you like it?
Thanks again,
JourneyFox
