This is the 2nd try to make my first post, which seems a
complicated effort, but to satisfy Tom B, here goes. :o
Talked to Fiona yesterday about her trip to England and some
rare acetate tracks for the next Vaults CD from Ace.
Also hope she catches a Jools Holland show, live or on BBC TV,
and maybe it will lead to the guys performing on the show at a
later date.
She also mentioned Pat Boone's label requesting license for more
Ventures tracks on an upcoming CD.

I wonder WHERE they find all those "rare" tracks?
I was in Japan in 1980 and met with some EMI execs and axed
about WHO owned Nokie's LP masters (LPs were released on a
Toshiba/EMI subsid), they had no clue.
Or if they did, they wernt talkin.
I actually believe that's main reason the V (Nokie) rerecord
some of that old stuff....they don't have the master rights.
I'm ok w/that.

So far the Pipeline boys have obtained the tracks from the
actual vaults..EMI I believe.
They are a few now, which I found deep in some boxes piled in
Don Wilson's garage.
The Vaults CDs take a long time to develop, but I'm crossing my
fingers.

Tapes, in general, are deteriorating. Any that are "found" by
anyone should be transfer 2 some other medium or they will be
"lost" forever.

The acetates were 8" steel discs with an acetate coating. Only
one side is recorded. More info at

But you are right. I copied them to hard drive and compact disc
asap.

What did you use to "play" them?
My comment was a general one about all studio tapes made back in
the day.
I hope they're as prompt and attentive as U wer.
