       Comparisions are inevitable and eventually settle down to
       matters of taste if their aren't glaring playing errors
       involved. As long as the performances are excellent, preferences
       for certain production values (dry guitar versus reverbed,
       delayed or echoed) are certainly matters of taste. The
       conversations are fun and IMHO aren't designed to settle
       anything.
       I'm a fan of all the various ways these classic tunes can be
       performed.

       Hello, Walt.  The comparison began originally in the UF forum,
       when a member was infuriated by the video.  Naturally, that
       called attention to the link, which I then watched and  showed
       to the Shadows guys as well.
       I'm afraid that, for that tune only and based on the sound and
       stage presentation shown in the video, I would place the Shadows
       way ahead here.
       Having said that, I love the Ventures WDR and dislike the
       Shadows version.  They should stick to their respective genre,
       probably!
