       aria dm-380

hi all i am new to the ventures sounds and guitars ect but love
the look of the mosrite guitars. so i brought a new aria dm-380
diamond series, which is a bit of a mosrite copy heres a link
  HTML http://www.ariausa.com/guitars/dm-380.html
       and an eastwood
sidejack deluxe. the aria was £159.00 including postage i am
greatly surprised how good it is, i have had it a couple days
now and it stays in tune ok sounds nice and plays well in
general. the setup was good right out of the box. i read a few
reviews on the net about how it goes out tune and bad fret ends
ect but this one stays in ok and frets are all ok. at the price
it at least looks a bit ventures style. the eastwood i just
brought second hand on ebay just got it. been setting it up
today. the setup was bad but dont now if thats what the factory
did or the bloke i brought it from. but again its a nice guitar
only a copy but you got to start somewhere. anybody got these
       models. peter

So, can you post some pix and maybe a few samples of you playing
       it?
Lottta people post their playin on the Shad's forum. I wish more
       would do that here too.

heres a picture of the aria. never done a sound file but i am
making it a new years resolution to do one some time this year.
i will take a picture of the eastwood and put it up. it has a
burns mark 8 bigsby type trem on it that doesent seem to work
       very well.
the arm is clamped on and has to be done up very tight as there
are no grooves on the spindle to stop it moving, anyone got a
       fix for it. peter

       Hi All
I bought one a couple of weeks back, I don't know how it
compares with a Mosrite, but it plays well, I did run a fine
sanding block down the edge of the finger boardjust to take out
the newness soften the fret ends and also polished up the matt
       neck finish with T cut.
It sounds really good, but I would have prefered the model only
available in Japan with a Jazz / Jag trem.
To that end I've also got an Eastwood Sidejack on order, the
Sidejack has a bound body and neck and does have the trem I
       would have prefered.
I'll post which I consider best.
Here in the UK the new Mosrite's are mega expensive around £3500
so the Aria at £160 or there abouts are really good value and
plays as well as any of my other guitars costing a lot more, the
only downside is it's a little heavy.

Short of a "genuine" Mosrite, you might want to consider one of
       these:

It looks mostly like the genuine article too.

They look excellent, sadly by the time they get this side of
the Atlantic with import duty and VAT they'll be quite
       expensive.
I wonder if anybody sells them over here.
