Drew's a big fan of the Cleveland Indians. He could be leading a
civilian militia to Progressive Field in an attempt to keep
fluffies from getting in. It'll be the holding ground for the
civilians who refused to abandon their beloved city.

He's got to survive the destuction, though, and Progressive
field is right in the middle of the city.

Is there a dome ceiling, or is it open? The military could evac
       them at the last second.

Good point - it's nice and open.
Still, what's the quickest way to get him from "I used to be a
Marine" to "I am a Marine?"

So with the push towards fluffy-based and not military-based
explosion, my question is this: How do I get an ex Marine
Reservist into a battle on US Soil the fastest, and what would
       he do?

Believe it or not, the fastest way for Drew Carey to be in the
fight is not as a Marine, but through the Governor's Office in
Columbus. It's pretty likely that he would be called
upon/attempt to join the Ohio National Guard. The Marines have
two reserve forces: the USMC Reserves, of course, and something
called the Individual Ready Reserve (all branches have this),
where people who have been discharged are subject to recall
during times of emergency, up to 400 days after their departure.
This is, more or less, the extent of the Marines reserve
structure. The Army, however, has the Army Reserve, the
National Guard of the United States (a joint reserve between the
Army and Air Force, whose members are Title 10 federal troops)
and the National Guards of each State, that are controlled by
their individual Governors under Title 32, United States Code.
What would he be doing? Harder to say. I'm almost certain he
wouldn't be a commissioned officer, he doesn't have the college
degree or the MOS (military occupational specialty, your job,
basically) that grants you a commission upon entry (which, by
the way, is why military doctors/lawyers start at the rank of
Captain). It's not implausible that he would be a
non-commissioned officer, perhaps a Sergeant or Staff Sergeant.
       I'd think, at first, his role would be public relations;
encouraging people to leave, stop rioting, etc. After that?
He'd probably be leading patrols somewhere. His knowledge of
the city would come in handy. He could certainly be among the
infantry calling in artillery/close air support.

You made me think of what weapon is most efective against
       fluffies.
-Bullets are ok if you get the head, otherwise you may just
       shoot through the fluff
-Grenades are a bit overkill on fluffies but effective,
destructive on the enviroment and all tho...
-Riot control Rubber bullets, if they get the fluffy the thing
is dead plus those things tend to ricochet a lot: extra killings
-Sticks, any kind: cheap and brutal but lacking in reach so a
fluffy tide may drown you in fluff after half a dozen of blows
       at much
       Gentlemen, your ideas please

I would say the LRAD, considering its capacity for volume.
But for handheld weaponry, the flamethrower. It's got a large
spread, and the fluff will ignite. The fluffies will run to its
friends for hugs, and the flames will spread to others.
Of course, it can very easily turn into a clusterfuck.
Riot control weapons would probably be the best, since all of
that stuff would be lethal for fluffies.

120mm tungsten canister round fired from the M1 Abrams' main
gun. A herd of hundreds would be deconstructed into a bloody
       mist.
Barrett M82/XM500. A .50 cal round would vaporize a fluffy.
The Mark 77 airdropped munition, which contains, amongst other
things, the third generation of napalm and white phosphorus,
good when the civilians are gone.
The CBU-97 with the Wind Corrected Munitions Dispenser package,
also airdropped, a cluster bomb which is used to kill enemy
       tanks.
The M16A2 bounding anti-personnel mine, which launches itself
out of the ground upon being triggered and sprays a curtain of
iron shrapnel in a 60 meter circle.
But the thing that uses the least steel, and whose ammo is
invisible, and can't destroy buildings or damage infrastructure?

Meet the Active Denial System. This is a weapon that uses
concentrated high-frequency waves to excite the fat and water
       molecules in an organic target.
It cooks them like a microwave, and does nothing destructive to
       things that aren't alive.

Have I ever mentioned I'm really glad we have you around,
       Mayclore?
       Because I am.
We gotta throw in the mobile microwave somehow.
