This is gonna be mid-Phase 2, shortly before the quarantine is
       put in place.
       >”ATTENTION ALL PERSONEL. ATTENTION ALL PERSONEL. AN EVACUATION
IS IN EFFECT. PLEASE RETURN ALL FUZZY TEST SUBJECTS TO THEIR
CAGES IN STORAGE AND REPORT TO THE FRONT DESK IMMEDIATELY. THIS
IS NOT A DRILL. I REPEAT..”
       >You are once again Bill, one of the lead developers on the
Fuzzy Pony Project, a new generation in biological technology,
and the product that will put Biotoys in the Fortune 500.
       >Well, you're not sure about that last part anymore.
       >The city is completely overrun with fluffy ponies.
       >Millions upon millions of the infantile furballs are running
       amok throughout downtown Cleveland.
       >How and why, you can't say with certainty.
       >Some researchers are saying it's that new fluffy-themed park,
       Spaghetti Land.
       >That would explain the rush of tourists with their pets, but
nearly all of the invading fluffies are wild herds. Why would
they be here? And how did they know where to go?
       >It all started a few days ago, and has gone from an irritating
invasion to a full on fluffpocalypse.
       >Now the military is stepping in and declaring the entire area a
       quarantine zone.
       >You've heard through the grapevine that without enough food and
space, many of the fluffies have taken to eating the corpses of
their friends in order to survive.
       >You know how that will end.
       >Mad Fluff Disease.
       >Animals aren't supposed to eat their own kind. They ingest all
those bacteria and diseases that their fallen brethren had, and
       it grows inside them.
       >You've seen what it looks like outside. Nothing but fluffies as
far as the eyes can see, all whining and crying for food,
       shelter, and hugs.
       >The smell is indescribable.
       >If the fluffies develop disease, it's going to spread
       uncontrollably.
       >And if they all decide to get the hell out of dodge...
       >Fuck, there's no containing something like that.
       >So now the military is going to evacuate as many people as they
can before setting up a perimeter around the city.
       >What they're going to do after that, you can't imagine.
       >Probably won't be anything good for the fluffies.
       >Patrick and Arthur arrive at the front desk.
       >”We're the last two. We checked all the rooms. All fuzzies are
       back in their cages.”
       >”Good. Listen up, everyone! I don't need to tell you the kind
of shitstorm that's brewing outside. The military is telling us
to get the fuck out, and that's what we're going to do. This
facility is gonna go into lockdown until the quarantine is
lifted. Short of a direct missile strike, this building should
be completely intact when we get back.”
       >A researcher in the back raises her hand.
       >”Bill, what are we going to do about the fuzzies?”
       >”They've all been put back in their storage cages. They have
beds, automatic feeders and water dishes, enough room to move
around, and litterboxes big enough to last for at least a month.
They'll be fine by themselves while we're gone. Any other
       questions?”
       >”What about our research?”
       >”We've made backups of the servers, and they're all in the
archive room. I doubt the fuzzies will try to hack into our
       database.”
       >Scattered laughter. One researcher makes a mental note to test
the cognitive limits of fuzzies after quarantine is lifted.
       >”Nothing else? Alright, everybody move! We're taking the
company buses; the streets are literally flooding with fluffies,
so the fewer cars to deal with, the better.”
       >All the researchers begin heading for the garage, one of them
making a joke about the fluffies drowning in their own flood.
       >”Bill, wait up.”
       >”What's up, Arthur?”
       >”Did you tell the fuzzies to eat and shit and stuff yet?”
       >”Yeah, I did it over the intercom.”
       >”That could be a problem. While I was checking all the rooms, I
noticed some of the speakers weren't delivering the emergency
broadcast very clearly. Sounded like a Chinese guy talking
underwater. It's possible the fuzzies didn't hear their
       instructions.”
       >”Fuck. I have to coordinate the evacuation. Can you run back
       and double check?”
       >”Sure thing. Catch you on the last bus.”
       >Arthur runs back to the testing areas.
       >Good guy, that Arthur.
       >You are Arthur, researcher for the Fuzzy Pony Project.
       >You despise fluffies, and the part of the project that excites
you most, aside from the fuckloads of cash, is the opportunity
to drive fluffy ponies into extinction.
       >Ever since the incident....it was because of fluffies that it
happened, and you will never forgive them.
       >Smelly, needy little shits.
       >But here is a chance to deal a major blow to the unending
       fluffy population.
       >If you can take out all the fluffies that will be sealed in the
city, it'll be years, maybe even a decade, before they can
replenish their numbers back to where they were before.
       >And by then, the fuzzies will be the hot commodity.
       >Nobody will want fluffies anymore. Even those hugboxing hippies
will see fluffies for the shit-filled vermin that they are.
       >You can see it now: hunting parties, mass exterminations,
legalized killing, mandatory neutering for the remaining
shitheads who still want to keep their precious shitbags.
       >Whoops, popped a boner.
       >Oh well, nobody's around.
       >Nobody to witness what you're about to do.
       >You reach the door to the fuzzy storage room and enter.
       >There's a security camera right above the door.
       >You're in its blindspot, and you pull the power cord out just
       enough that it shuts down.
       >Whoops, looks like that cord wasn't properly plugged in.
Somebody will have to have words with maintenance after
       quarantine.
       >Wink wink.
       >The fuzzies are all in their cages.
       >A quick check shows all of them present and accounted for.
       >One hundred fuzzies, yours to command.
       >”Fuzzies, look at me!”
       >All heads turn to you in unison.
       >Christ, that's creepy.
       >”Fuzzies, you may eat, drink, poop, pee, exercise, and sleep
       whenever you need. Understand?”
       >They all respond as one. “Fuzzy undastan'.”
       >That's really creepy.
       >They start acting on their own. Some walk around their cage,
some use their litterbox, some eat from their food bowl.
       >”Fuzzies, listen again.”
       >They all stop what they're doing and look at you.
       >”Fuzzies, begin secret order 109. Password: obsolete.”
       >A hundred little voices say “Aknowedged”
       >You take out an egg timer and set it to 60 minutes.
       >”Fuzzies, when this timer rings, you will all leave this room,
go down the hall, and exit the red door. You will all go out
       into the city.”
       >”Yes, mista.”
       >You press the big red button on the wall.
       >A klaxon goes off, then all the fuzzy cages open.
       >The fuzzies stay where they are, resuming their activities.
       >You prop the door open and walk out into the hallway.
       >You locate a fire exit and open it.
       >The alarm goes off, but there's nobody here but you to hear it.
       >Leaving it open, you run out of the hallway towards the garage.
       >Everything is set. By the time the quarantine is set up, all of
those fluffies will be trapped inside with fuzzies that have
been programmed to hunt down and kill all fluffies out of sight
       of humans.
       >There goes that boner again.
If you're wondering what the 'incident' is, I haven't thought of
it yet. If you have a good idea for what would cause someone to
declare eternal vengeance on all fluffies, I'm all ears.

Damnit Vanner you beat me to it =/
Meh still gonna write mine, it's largely different and maybe
I'll come up with a different commercial or something.
Yeah having several different commercials airing may be a good
subtle way to show how much money the city is putting into
       this... Or something

Great Story Anubis but does this mean Fuzzies didn't hit the
public market yet? Perhaps they had a test launch in Cleveland?

No, they're still in the final stages of testing. Biotoys
planned to release them not long after, but that was before the
invasion hit. At this point, fuzzies are a very well guarded
secret. Fluffies got released on the world uncompleted because
Aperture Biotech couldn't wait to advertise and hippies broke
them out. They're not going to make that mistake.
Unless Vanner decides otherwise. It was his conception, I'm just
       rolling with it.

What was the story idea? I can add in that there's been a trial
       run in Cleveland.

Before we left the other Forum I proposed a story about a guy (a
hugboxer of sorts) who had lost his most recent Fluffy and
decides to get a Fuzzy. While atfirst he's thrilled with it's
good behavior he slowly realizes that Fuzzies are no where near
as fun and he ends up dumping the Fuzzy in a passing herd
although that ending worked better with the virus thing but
whatever I'd still like to do the main idea there

fuzzy in a less clinical setting.

We got a month. No rush. I've just been writing a lot because
       I'm inspired.
