Yes, that could work. I still don't think it's as dramatic, but
exactly what sets off the final destruction can be figured out
later. Are we all in agreement that the buildup of bloated
fluffies, combined with the sewer gas, is what finally destroys
       cleveland?

Nukes aren't off the table, but isn't it funnier when the
fluffies manage to do themselves in?

Throwing this out there, but Fluffy Unicorn Sparks are
supposedly barely-hot, according to the stories I based my own
       works upon.
So sparks from a Single Unicorn aren't going to do much. But you
get two or three hundred, all massed, all sparking away
furiously, putting their little hearts and souls into it, they
       could do some damage.
I'm also of the opinion that a Unicorn Fluffy can produce
normal, hot sparks, but it's both physically and mentally
draining. At best, we're talking a few seconds of extreme effort
before the Unicorn passes out unconscious.
And another 'sub species' of Fluffy Pony ... you guys are
hacking my brain, aren't you. I was going to introduce
'Cave-Fluffies' in the last two chapters of On-The-Rocks ...

Maybe some how a Fluffy gets a hold of a military radio and
somehow signals a launch, maybe he asks for lunch and they
       mishear him?
       >Dropped radio on the ground
       >"Colonel! Colonel? Should we launch the nuke?"
       >Fluffy pone picks up radio
       >"Hewwo? Yoo say wunch? Fwuffy wan WUNCH!
       >Scrambled signal
       >sounds like "...You....launch?...LAUNCH!"
       >"You men heard the colonel!"
       >Keys turn
       >Nuke Launches
       I don't know...

I get the feeling that Mayclore is going to tell us why that
would never work. Besides, fluffies don't really know the names
       of meals. They're all nummies.

There would have to be some serious shit going down for a
Colonel to have command of nuclear weapons.
Although it's not totally out of the realm of possibility that a
field-grade officer would have access to tactical nuclear
devices in an emergency, they would still need
Presidential/National Command Authority to use them. Especially
on American soil. There is absolutely no way they would have
power to launch any kind of ICBM, barring a decapitation strike
or some sort of national apocalypse that just killed millions of
people. Only one kind of officer below the rank of
General/Admiral used to have that power: the Captains of US Navy
ballistic missile submarines. Even they must defer to the NCA
       now.
I'm going to make a thread for these sorts of things. Ask me
       questions there.

Just got back from seeing The Avengers again, and there was
totally some civilian council in charge of a nuke, so I don't
       see what's wrong here.
Seriously, though, I've wanted a WMD all along, but I also have
an inter-dimensional police unit saving fluffies and my Princess
Sparkle contribution was Celestia sending her to the moon. I
tend to have a more loose opinion on what sort of fantastic
things to bring to the fluffy table.

       That council was hardly civilian
       also that was a movie
but I would like to hear someone point out that nuking Cleveland
       is a "Stupid Ass Decision"

Here's my thought: I like WMD personally for the shock value,
but that is obviously an unlikely scenario. I understand what
Mayclore is trying to get across to us, and I think the story
would work better with that. In the end, the original Plinko
story had Drew Carey on a vendetta against the Fluffies - and
while I can see him doing that from feeling the fluffies forced
the military into having no option but a WMD, I think that the
fluffy-based destruction fits better with that attitude,
otherwise his vendetta would be against the military or the
Board of Multispecies Tourism or whatever.
Yet on the other [s]hoof[/s] hand, for those who still support
the WMD option, I do like the idea of a Fluffy somehow getting
on a poor-transmission radio and giving the launch order. So
I'm going to bring that up in the other thread.
