Inside baseball forum stuff: I stickied Story Bits, because I
want to keep it near the top, but the locking of Off Topic was
an accident. Both Anubis and I were in the thread browsing on
phones, so we figure one or the other of us hit the wrong
button. No need to panic if you thought it was a reaction to
something posted: long story short, I've been kicked out of
online projects because I posted off-topic stuff in an off-topic
thread, which pissed me off, so I'd never take action against
any of you for things you post in off-topic (ya'know, unless
it's against the parent site's TOS).

Good idea. We have about a month until showtime, and I'm hoping
to see that topic explode with content. You've all been doing a
great job so far, and this fun little collab has become bigger
than I ever dared to dream of. I myself am going to step up my
game and try to complete as many stories as I can before the
launch date.

Happy original Phase 2 date, everyone!
We have got so much stuff ready to go, that I think we need to
discuss dates. What follows is my ideas for this. Let me say
first though that by no means is my posting this a statement of
what we have to do, it is just my suggestion and until Spaghetti
Land opens, whatever dates we choose must be treated as
guidelines to seem natural.
I think we are at the point that we need to switch over to phase
1b starting tomorrow, 30 June. Drop overt Spaghetti Land
references in otherwise normal stories for a week.
Next, Phase 1c starting about a week later, Saturday 7 July.
Officially start moving the herds, and post any Cleveland
stories that take place before the opening of Spaghetti Land.
Phase 1d starts with the official opening of Spaghetti Land on
14 July. Post your stories of life in the park over a few day's
time.
By the 18th, it's time to start questioning if anyone can still
be in Cleveland. We should probably start the military
evacuation on 19th at the latest, and have that and the 20th for
the military stories and the ferals fighting taking place in
Spaghetti Land.
That makes the 21st the Fall. Let the bodies hit the floor.
We'll probably want to post solid, just-post fall stories within
the next few days after that to establish the aftermath, but
then it's whatever we want to do with zombfluffs and any
surviving fuzzies.
Gee, all this talking about openign Spaghetti Land makes me want
to write a version of the Disneyland Dedication

Given we all agree that this is the timeline we want to go with,
I am saying the next week be similar to what we already are
doing, except that instead of posting stories dropping the name
of Cleveland or Drew Carey references, what we drop in is actual
references to the storyline, i.e., Spaghetti Land, Fuzzies, and
the like. As I recall, Mercury's story would come late in this;
we want time to drop a few hints before writing stories that
actually are fully based on and about the collaboration.
So please, let's talk about this so we can decide what is best
for everyone.

Agreed. I'm very excited to have this thing begin to go public.
(Incidentally, I wouldn't be surprised if, as with the Garden
Fluffies, people who aren't actually in on the collaboration
start writing stories involving Spaghetti Land once the ads
start appearing ... what's everyone's opinion on that?)
If the committee is in agreement, I'd love to do a Canada Day
update to my fluffy game which, among other options which will
make it seem less prominent, includes a TV set for the fluffies
that they will gather around and watch, giggling and clapping.
It'll have six different programs that randomly appear when
turned on - one of which is an ad for Spaghetti Land,
specifically mentioning the name of the park and Cleveland,
Ohio.
... I'm actually kind of tempted to have a snippet of "Uni the
Unicorn" now, but I don't want to get carried away. :)
I'll probably put up the "newspaper ad" for Spaghetti Land right
after someone else posts a story that mentions it directly.
What do y'all think?

I've got a question. How many stories do you suspect each of us
will end up writing? 'Cause, I've been thinking...I really
can't make my characters fit into this without fucking up
everything I've written so far. So, to compensate, it appears I
might be writing the entire military campaign by myself. That
might be twenty stories. Plus my regular work. In...roughly
two weeks. And I'm pretty sure you're going to call on me for
the Fall, because you'll want me to bring B-52s to carpet bomb
something.
Which means I have another question. I see the dates, but are
the stories happening in real-time? That is, do the events in
stories leading to the Fall also happen over a three day period?
Because I was going to write four stories in five phases
concerning the campaign, beginning with lighter weapons and
ending with what would probably contribute partly to the Fall,
the President ordering some sort of Broken Arrow last-ditch
attempt, which would include all available aircraft attacking
Cleveland in an attempt to entomb, if not outright kill, the
fluffy grey goo.
Anyway, I'm asking because that's gonna be a lot of research for
me, and roughly 20,000 words of writing. So, yeah. I'm just
wondering how much of the project is now in my Utterly Incapable
Hands.

I was thinking Spaghetti Land to Fall happening in real-time,
but that doesn't have to be the way it works. That was well
before we put so much into writing the military and Spaghetti
Land parts of the story, so we can have that change.
Or we can move the date back. No reason to advertise a date, as
the main way to do so had Spaghetti Land blow on the opening
day, which ain't happening now. That said, any dates for
teasers should probably just be "July."
