Geelong Cats Barrows Guide

BARROWS IS CURRENTLY NOT WORKING
Before you can start barrows you will need to bring a spade
which you can buy at bob
Suggested Levels
Barrows can be attempted with levels below these, however you
may find it difficult to do multiple trips without banking or
even one trip without banking.
70 Attack, Strength, and Defence
70 Constitution
70 Range for Black dragonhide armour for tanking Ahrim
43 Prayer - Protection prayers are advised, particularly against
Dharok
Optional: 70 Magic for Ice Burst if using the Ancient Magicks
method
Upon arrival at the Barrows you will notice there are six mounds
which are home to the six (or seven) Barrows Brothers. In order
to access the tombs under the mounds where the brothers reside
you can use the spades provided at each mound to dig while
standing atop the mound of the Brother you wish to fight. You
should be aware that when you enter a brother's tomb, your
prayer will start to drain at a speed dependent on the number of
brothers you have killed.

Ahrim -
His combat spells will have a chance to drain your strength.
This cannot be blocked by protection prayers so lower levels
might want to bring a stat restore potion with them
Defensively, there are two main ways of dealing with Ahrim. You
can either pray against his magic attacks or tank them, the
former being advised for lower levels. Offensively, Ahrim is
weak to range but he can also be taken down quite easily with
melee if you have 90+ combat stats and access to Chaotic
weaponry.

Dharok-
The lower his lifepoints, the greater his maximum hit. Just
before death, his maximum hit is doubled. This can be fully
blocked by protection prayers.
Many players choose to start their Barrows trip by fighting
Dharok as fighting him without prayer can be risky. The danger
here is running out of prayer while he is on low health, and
taking two massive hits from him. As with all the melee
brothers, his resistance to magic is non-existent, so Slayer
Dart, Waves spells and Ice Burst work well here.

Guthans-
Any damage you take from Guthan has a chance to heal him equal
to the amount of damage dealt. For example, if he hits you for
150 lifepoints, he could recover 150 lifepoints. The damage can
be blocked by protection prayers, however he will still heal
what he would have hit you for.
Guthan can be quite dangerous if you get unlucky and he
successfully lands a few high-hitting hits that heal him;
however, most players opt to not pray against him unless they
have leftover prayer. As with all of the melee brothers, his
magic defence is non-existent.

Karils-
Any damaging attack has a chance to lower your Agility level.
While damage can be blocked by protection prayers, your agility
level will still be lowered.
Karil is one of the more dangerous of the brothers because he
hits fairly hard with very fast and accurate attacks. His
attacks can be fully blocked by protection prayers. If you do
not have any prayer left you should keep an eye on your health
and try to avoid letting it drop below 500.

Torag-
Any damaging attack has a chance to drain a small amount of your
run energy. While the damage can be blocked by protection
prayers, your run energy will still be drained.
Torag is the easiest of the brothers, but he can still get lucky
and deal a good amount of damage. Most players do not pray
against him and high level players will often be undamaged from
this encounter. As with all of the melee brothers, his magic
defence is non-existent.

Verac-
Verac's attacks have a chance to ignore any protection prayers
you have active, as well as any armour you are wearing.
Verac is probably the most dangerous brother because of his set
effect, which can land you in some trouble if he gets a few
consecutive hits in. Protection prayers are useful in that they
reduce his maximum hit; However, because he can still hit
through prayer, many players do not bother praying against him.
You should keep an eye on your health whilst fighting Verac. As
with all the melee brothers, his magic defence is non-existent
which makes using Ice burst a good idea as it will keep him away
from you.
