Downloading files onto a Mac

Hi All from the UK, New here today, had to come on to try and
resolve an issue I have with my new Falcon 360HD. Works great
all the lights go up and it appeared to be fine. This evening I
ejected the SD card to check the quality. Cant recognise files
on my iMac, doesn't show up in Finder, so can't open them, but
files show on partners Windows laptop but still can't open and
view them. So having a MacBook pro tried that, files show in
Finder but again not opening, get a message not recognised
format (TIFF) Downloaded a convertor app and the files are shown
to have zero bytes. Anyone else have similar problems, or know a
decent inexpensive full version of a file convertor for a TiFF
to anything that is supported by Apple. Things no good if you
can't download files. If in an accident need to have decent
files to show for the insurance claim.
