You Yang Proving Grounds

Has any plans been made for vehicles travelling to scheduled
event via Bendigo?
Would like to travel with others if at all possible.

At this point in time no arrangements have been made but they
will be for those coming from all directions. From Bendigo the
best way will be to cut through from Kyneton and across to
Bacchus Marsh. This could be a meeting place for cars coming
from that direction as the Proving Grounds entrance is off the
Bacchus Marsh/Geelong road.
I can formulate times when the final advice goes out to all
participants.

Everything is go for the big day. Weather even looks good at the
moment. Nearly 100 cars on the grid now.

Only a few days to go and all looks great for the weather and
participants. A great raffle prize on the day. Remember all
those that have registered must be there by 8.30am. There is no
provision for spectators. Each car can have a maximum of only 2
people and all must have completed appropriate paperwork before
entry.

So close yet so far away. I guess that is the story of our life.
We aimed for You Yang and left NSW Saturday 1.45pm. Reached
Bacchus Marsh in the afternoon only to find out no vacancies
available anywhere. Tried Geelong without any luck. Found
accommodation at Ballarat, so off we went. Left Ballarat at
6.50am on Sunday so to ensure we made it on time.
Anyways to cut a long frustrating story short the last thing I
noted was driving past Barwon prison at around 8.35am when I had
decided to through the towel in and head for home. Sorry people.
Looks like a great day for all who attended and a tad
disappointing for those who couldn't make it. But I must say for
those like my wife and I, Absolutely shattering. Once in a
lifetime event missed by one left turn not taken.
Look forward to seeing the day's activities.

Sorry to hear that you missed out. Not sure how you got lost. I
would have thought you may have seen other GTs on the road as
there were so many out there.
