New way to appoint new staff
By: Horses4Life Date: April 4, 2018, 11:37 pm

Hi! I was thinking the other day, and I strongly believe that we
could change our application system for something more simple
and like the Curator/Helper system.
Basically, User's could get the opportunity to be a Moderator if
they are helpful, kind, and, participate in reinforcing the
guidelines. If they caught a Bureaucrats eye, they could ask the
other Bureaucrats what they thought of that person, and if the
bureaucrats both agree, this person will be appointed as a
moderator, The Bureaucrats would check the user's history of
posts.
The Bureaucrats would ideally want a user who is kind and offers
help, will not expecting anything in return. Regularly can be
seen around the community, and would be happy to offer help to
newcomers, These users would be people who know when to joke,
and when to be serious, and when and how to interfere.
Some websites/games that have this method are Hill Cliff Horse
Online, I think Dragons Online, Runescape, and many more.
Please share your opinions.

Since we have done this system before, You have my full support,
and we picked up some amazing moderators :D
Users should also be allowed (and staff) to recommend a user,
but that does not guarantee them a spot on the team, Take me for
example on the community I won't give a name of.

Interesting, I have heard many stories of bad outcomes, where
users just do it for the power and when they achieve it bad
things result.
But, There are some amazing people who would do it for the
community, Bluestar, being one of them ;)
Support.

Also, It should take time, if you become a moderator within 4
days of trying, Good on you, Users should learn to have
patience, and what a better way then it takes a long period of
time? This will also help the Administrators/Bureaucrats get to
know the user a little better before they jump to the conclusion
of them becoming a moderator.
I personally feel like The guidelines would need to be changed,
and guides would have to implement, as Facediary is adding all
these new and improved systems, Overall, I think it would be a
great idea.

There would certainly need to be a guideline change, and I agree
that it should take time, If they are interested being a new
member would lessen your chances, But you must remember, We
aren't a game, and I think if a brand new member knew what they
were doing, It would be a fantastic addition to our team.
