Zegras signs

Four years 9.125 million aav. Little less both term and salary
than I thought. This takes him to 2 years after Martone contract
so money should be available for Martone contract and next deal
with TZ.

why wouldn't money be available for Martone regardless of this
contract.
guess the cup "window" is the next 4 years.

With Vlad in net we were on pace to get 103 points over an 82
game season.
This new guy we got to replace your Swedish crush could be even
better than Vlad.
Our biggest problem last year was the power play. We stunk at
it.
Bigger forwards to park in front of the net, and more decisive
PP QBing is the clear fix.

With the additional 2 games I could see your total points being
achievable. The PP is the number one target. JD said he would
work on his shot over the summer. If he can add just a little
more speed and hit the target more then the PP. would be much
better. I agree that bigger forwards that go to the net should
help as well. I think Foerster, Zegras, Martone, MM and Drysdale
could be an effective unit. I still do not like MMs fit but on
the PP he could help.
It will be interesting to see the contract that JD gets. Players
with less skill have signed deals over 7 million. The Ducks
signed their RFA defenseman after being threatened with another
offer sheet to over 7 million. What do you see JD signing for
and how many years? My guess since him and TZ are friends the
term may be the same with an AAV of 7.5 million.

Drysdale has been better on defense than offense, which is both
a compliment and insult.
I would decide now which one of Cam or JD I wanted long term and
look to move the other while they're still young.
Cam's current contract makes him the more likely player to fetch
us a 1st on the open market.
