A Non-Governmental Organisation(NGO), Concerned Women and Youth

the state.
Tessy Nwaezeapu, the Executive Director of the NGO, disclosed
this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in
Asaba on Sunday.
She said the youths who were selected from three local
government areas (LGAs) of the state were trained in catering,
soap-making and pop corn-making.
Nwaezeapu said the youths were from Agbor in Ika North East, and
the Sapele and Isoko South LGAs.
"A total of 50 youths each were picked from the local government
areas and at theend of the training, some starter-packs were
given to them to enable them start their own business, she
added.
The executive director said the essence of the training was to
reduce unemployment, as well as help check youth restiveness in
the state.
She also disclosed that apart from the youth empowerment
programmes, the NGO had been organising series of seminars on
how to check youth restiveness.
"The NGO has also embarked on an enlightenment campaign on
issues relating to womens health, child protection and
capacity-building, the executive director said.
She said further that the organisation had in the last one year
been able to empower women in the areaof 35 per cent as
stipulated by the Women Affirmative Action.
"The essence of empoweringthe women through the 35 per cent
