Progress so far in the character modeling tutorials! So far, the
process is appears very simple once there is a reference to base
the model off of and you know the basic anatomy structures.
Following the video as a guideline is very useful for learning
the modeling process and being sure that all parts of the body
are accurate. The second of the maya images demonstrates trying
to depict the triceps, biceps, and elbow in the way it was done
in the tutorial. Also included are some VERY EARLY design
sketches/brainstorming for the character design project later.
They have the general idea I want to follow, but could do with
some more refinement (in outfits, anatomy, and overall character
appeal) and silhouette variants to decide on the best design for
the project. I feel that the clothes could be very simpler and
even more effective based off art of colleagues in class and of
professional work on the internet. The color variants present
are a couple examples off appealing palettes based off
complementary colors and RGB combinations. While I'm not
presently happy with the current palettes, I will continue to
work to find a appealing color palette for this character to set
it above the others.
