Still Life: The American Civil War

The mood I aimed for was one of serene relaxation in the
mid-afternoon sun. During the Civil War, camps would often be
littered with various parts and pieces, especially during the
time just before or after a battle. The story behind this shot
could be one of a photographer taking a break from documenting a
recent skirmish that had concluded, with meat being thrown in
with the standard fare of hardtack to celebrate a victory. I do,
however, encourage you to come up with your own ideas as to how
this scene could've come to be, I'm very interested to hear your
thoughts and replies.

One other piece of detail that failed to be shown off in the
final image due to how I eventually decided to lay things out,
but I wanted to mention, included the engraving of the cylinder
of the revolver as officers would often do. I inscribed it as a
homage to the commander of my reenactment group "We Make
History", Colonel Scott. The engraving (which is still there if
you squint) reads:
Col. Hinkle
1st Regiment, Army of Northern Virginia
"Sic Semper Tyrannis!"

The camera angle and lighting looks good. You should add some
vertices/edges to your objects (like the grip of the gun, the
frying pan, the food) and move them around to make the objects a
little rounder instead of having more rectangular edges.
