       Change of Categories

       Does this mean no more random conversations or just general
       chats about things not necessarily art related?

       I'm not certain about this since I wasn't the one who made these
       changes, but the new categories were probably introduced to give
       the forum better outlets for resources (although the way its set
       up right now makes the category page look cluttered). I imagine
       the "General Discussion" board was removed because it was used
       more than the other boards that were made for critiques and
       resources, and also because of some of the content that appeared
       on that board. It seems like the only way to recreate a General
       Discussion board at the moment would to PM discussions to those
       you think would be interested (sending private messages to
       multiple users), or to create some kind of social group outside
       of the forum.
