I worked alone on our Second Year Animation History project. Our
project was supposed to be based on one of the styles of
animation we studied, like rubber hose or limited animation. I
chose Adult Animation for this project, which is an animation
style that is aimed toward more mature audiences, so I went with
a skit that had dark undertones of PTSD and war. This was my
first time doing any animation in 2D, and I think it turned out
       well.
The style of the characters and backgrounds are based on the
cartoon Rick and Morty, which is a modern cartoon made using the
Adobe Suite. So, to stay true to my inspiration, my project was
completed entirely using After Effects. I drew and key-framed
the characters and backgrounds using shape layers, giving every
scene high quality vector imagery. The only thing that was not
drawn in AE were the clouds.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with the result. There are a bunch of
minor things I could fix or add to increase quality, however I
don't feel the need to do so as of now, since it was my first 2D
animation. If I do another one, I'll definitely have many more
details to consider. What are your thoughts? I would love some
       critique and feedback.

I'm actually pretty speechless on how good this is. I like the
whole style of this animation and I like how you did the most of
it in after effects. If I had one gripe, it would be that I
would turn on some sort of anti-aliasing to smooth out the
jagged edges that are mostly noticeable on the blocks.

Make sure to watch on Youtube at 1080p for better viewing
quality, and no aliasing will appear. The reason it looks
aliased is that the footage is compressed when in this small
       view port.

Ahh! You're right, that's my bad. 1080p did fix the aliasing.

Fantastic, especially since you did it alone.
