Would the careers officer recommend it?

OK, so we have lots of new members joining but it takes a little
while to settle in and hopefully, the newbies will soon start
putting up their own posts to form the basis of a discussion.
Please don't hesitate to post because unlike some sites, no one
on here bites and Krystal keeps us all under control :))
Pre-amble over now to the next debate which I have deliberately
framed as a broad one to get everyone contributing.
For those old enough to remember, they used to say "Never allow
your daughter on to the stage, Mrs Brown". So, we will update
that a bit!
Would you allow/recommend/encourage your daughter (it doesn't
matter if you don't have a daughter - hypothetical) to learn a
trade as a pro whether this be as a domme or a switch? Is it a
good and recommended career move or a fair, valued and
respectable way to earn a living?
Loads of points to make here both for and against. No right or
wrong answers - just opinions to share and we might all gain a
few insights by sharing views and opinions. Who is going to
kick this one off?

No-one about as yet on this fine Sunday Morning!
To start you off, we will look at "Safety" aspects - is being a
pro domme/switch a safe occupation/job
Let's cover this one first - thoughts, please!

I have a lovely lady friend who is well know in the CP game and
she found that her also lovely daughter learnt of Mums "goings
on" and showed an interest in it. She was introduce carefully
and caringly to it with the use of trusted players. All went
swimmingly until the dreaded boyfriend somewhere down the line
started to become suspicious and, although given an indication
by the daughter of her interests, didn't want to play and she
felt it best to back out of further forays onto the successful
world that her Mum lived in. I was bereft and saddened and very
annoyed with the dipstick of a boyfriend, but such if life. She
was a little cracker though!
I know of another Mother Daughter duo where the Daughter brought
her Mum into it,and we have a lovely time, much to the amusement
of the Daughter when we 3 play together.
I forget the reason for my reply now, but it does work and the
morals behind it I think, are if it feels right and all parties
are fully aware of what they are doing and not hurting anybody
else, ( you know what I mean). then what is the harm. After all,
one doesn't have to do it full time.

Yes, indeed, Grant, there are mother and daughter combinations
and some operate together. I know of another situation whereby
the really quite famous CP specialist apprenticed her own
daughter who know operates under her own "stage name" so not
everyone knows about their connection.
Thus we see that "keeping it in the family firm" can work but as
you say, boyfriends can have a large influence both ways - for
and against.
No-one has looked at safety as yet but there are plenty of other
issues and points to raise so keep posting everyone.
I will start the safety one if it helps in kicking things off.
Last week, I learned to a 22 yr old spankee/switch who is
probably good and certainly very dynamic and resourceful. She
shares bases but will travel (alone) and if necessary will
attend at your own home if you assist with the rail fare. Now
how safe is this, I ask? She is seemingly willing to enter the
house of an entirely unknown to act as a sub but without obvious
back up - no chaperon sitting outside in a car. Thoughts on this
and other aspects of safety for swiches/dommes, please!

This is a slightly more difficult than perhaps seems at first.
Yes, the girl could be putting herself in a vulnerable situation
and personally I never have any objection to a chaperone. Then
again, the male she's visiting could also be in a difficult
situation if the girl made untrue allegations and he didn't have
his own chaperone to back him up.
A similar situation often occurs in my professional world of
photography where you get young female (and male) models
travelling to premises and homes unaccompanied. Some
photographers allow them to bring chaperones and some don't.
Only a few photographers insist on chaperones of their own. This
can be got around by using a professional photographic studio
where there will be at least the owner around to call on if
things go wrong, but many don't bother.
Pretty well everyone has a mobile phone these days, so perhaps
that adds a little security that didn't exist a few years ago.
Then again, perhaps I've discovered a new business opportunity!

Good points made here - see previous answer.
And if the 22 yr old was acting as a sub (she is a full switch),
what if she allowed herself to be bound and gagged? Mobile phone
would not help in this situation and neither would it help in a
no signal area!
Also, good points made concerning the client being at risk from
malicious or untrue allegations. In the cases of nearly all
criminal allegations, there is a presumption of innocence until
proven guilty but not so in the case of malicious sexual
allegations where the initiative rests with the accused who is
faced with the task of proving his innocence - not easy in some
cases and reputation and personal life ruined by then - mud
sticks!

Over the last few months I have acted as a Mentor for a switch
lady who although has been in the scene for a while has had no
real experience of meeting the "right sort" of guys and has had
very little safety built into her activities. One thing that I
am very relieved about is that she won't visit without her
Guard/Driver being close at hand.
I think there are a number of safety checks that can be used to
try and make life a little safer and these do include the mobile
phone. Pre checks on the background of a potential new client
can be a good guide, where a name of another person who has
played with the client and a contact made to get some feed back.
I have used this myself and indeed requested some of my girls to
check me out. I feel that this puts them at ease knowing that
they will be meeting a "safe Player" so helping to get our
meeting under way more easily.
There are several others which I wont put into open forum as
they could be used to negate the benefit of security if known
about. C:-)

I am guessing that Grant drops a couple of names almost in the
form of testimonials along the lines of "Feel free to check me
out with Mistress X." Does this not lead to any loyalty issues,
Grant? For example, would not Mistress X feel a bit miffed that
one of her supposedly loyal customers was playing away from home
or does it not work like this? In other words, is no customer
loyalty expected by the previously visited pros?

Of course it doesn't work that way...
