I've never been a fan of the paddle when I've seen it used in
spanking movies. I can't speak with much authority as I've never
experienced it myself. Also, unlike the cane, strap, slipper and
hairbrush, it's not a traditionally British spanking implement,
dammit! ;D (Wanders off for a gin and tonic.)

Quite right, Jon, it is an American gadget, I believe. Leave the
paddles to the yanks is what we say - I hope that "yanks" is not
PC incorrect, I have some good friends from the states and very
generous fellows they are but they can still keep their paddles
as far as am concerned.

I did try a paddle but it was ruddy hard work.
I put it back with the canoe in the end.

Are we discussing paddle as in the larger wooden implement or
the leather variety. I find the narrower (4 inch) leather
paddle is similar to a belt/strap though less likely to wrap
around as a strap can if not used with care.
