Oh, Lore! I was thinking of Two Bridges Hotel and the lovely
Vivienne Leigh who frequently visited this hotel on Dartmoor.
They even have a "Vivien Leigh room" which one can book.
Heard rumour that she was a spankee or did I dream this? Let's
just go back to the dreams and fantasies.
The one thing that she did not like was her co-star - what was
the fellow's name? He was very famous, too.
Vivien said in her autobiography, "I kissed him but never knew
him".

On the instruction leaflet which came with a tube of arnica
cream I bought (I don't think the arnica made any difference
btw), it was suggested elevating the bruised area (presumably
with the idea the blood from the broken capillaries would drain
downwards), and to apply a cold wet towel or an ice pack.
Problem is, it could rather spoil the mood after a good session.
Also, as was mentioned earlier in the thread, a lot of people
prefer to keep the warm sensation, and the marks. All down to
individual choice, I guess.

One thing that I like about arnika is having to apply it to a
very bruised and battered bottom.
Two reasons, knowing that I will apply a salve to the poor
bottom means That I have to apply myself most diligently to
create the right effect .
Secondly, the option of spreading that smooth cream all over a
hot and tingling bottom with the excuse of making it better.
You see, I am just all heart, kind and caring. >:D

I have read that Arnica cream should not be applied to open
cuts/wounds is that right? - presumably it is OK for bruised
areas?
There are other preparations/ treatments, of course, and as I am
very far from being an expert, perhaps those who have more
knowledge on this topic who might usefully enlighten us just a
little more?

I seem to recall that Dr Krystal has given us chapter and verse
on this subject. But as with any skin preparation, open wounds
should be avoided and only have special surgical style creams or
treatments applied. (antiseptics like Savlon. Calming and non
toxic)
I have held Which-hazel in high esteem since my childhood when
my mother used to apply it as a cold compress for bruised knees
etc. safe for children so safe for hot bots.
It is now available as a cream as well as the clear liquid.
One of my toughest Spankees uses this and she has been able to
maintain her high level of very firm applications without any
serious damage and subsequently has kept working

I may well need cream and gallons of it when you finally catch
up with me :))
My backside is not as pretty as that of jonpayne but it is the
only one I am likely to get so best take maximum care of it LOL

Returning to this thread and just to add a slightly different
dimension, it has been suggested to me that the problem of
bruising easily may be worked around by selecting different
instruments. I am not sure that we will have many experts who
can advise on this but which instruments would likely cause less
bruising in the case of someone who bruises easily?
