Hmm, yes, water infections and "water works" - doesn't bear
thinking about prior to finishing my porridge oats - just having
my last mouthful of breakfast.
I am still tying to find out about the "magic of the wet towel"
and I don't think that Google will help us there.
Mistress Nyx knows the answer as would several others I am sure.
Someone could always ask Lady P. if we get really stuck; she is
the fountain of much knowledge and from what I have heard is
generous in sharing her wisdom and experience. I do think that
it might be quite useful to know the answer because when I
graduate to my 500 stroke judicial style caning, it would be
useful. This brings us to this week's topic question: "How old
would Slowcoach have to live in order to graduate to a 500
stroke judicial caning?" Remenber that he moves slowly but
surely! Krystal will doubtless have a look via Google to find
the answer to this question :)) Will Google provide the
answer this time? If not, get out your calculators and we will
work out what the prize will be - assuming that we all live long
enough, that is! :))

So, Krystal or any other pros that we might have on this site
(do we have any others?). What percentage of folk would you say
are worried about marks and don't want any caning marks at all?
20% 40% 50% or whatever.
Just give us a rough answer cos I want to know if marking or the
fear of it is a big issue.
I still have not as yet found the answer to that "magic wet
towel" that supposedly eliminates all marking and risk thereof
but I will find out unless someone on here can provide the
answer. If necessary, I will email Dave Cameron - he went to
Eton before they banned caning so he will know the answer. If he
doesn't know it, he could ask at question time in House of
Commons. I bet some of those women sitting MPs know the answer!!
:))
A bit early yet but where is the Christmas bash going to take
place for all on this site? Grant, do you have this matter in
hand?

I don't have a fear of marks left by the cane, I dislike the
cane.

Yes, but what I was trying to assess is whether this is a big
problem for those so session with pros for caning sessions.
Is it half of them (roughly) who say that they don't want to be
marked or greater or lesser than this?

I would say less but what would I know. I think it depends on
their personal situation.

I expected that clients would make it clear before you started.
Not mentioning their personal circumstances, of course, no one
would dream of going there but I thought that they would just
say something like "I would prefer no marks if possible,
please."
Anyway, if it is a bit less than half, that is still a fair
percentage of folk who don't want marks for whatever private
reason.
Maybe they will invent non marking canes! Those willow canes
used in Siberia for the correctional treatment of drug addiction
etc are said not to mark at all. That is not to say that they
don't hurt (I am sure that they do) but according to the info I
read, those willow canes don't mark at all.

Christmas Bash, well there is a thought. something in the south
west do you think. I hear there is a rather snug little place
that is open all the year round and all hours. Somewhere on
Dartmoor I believe. Heard they do a good Judicial there!!!
I am of the opinion that the wet towel caning is based on being
caned in skintight wet cotton trousers as performed on the
Sailors during Drakes days. The theory is that as the result of
the fabric being wet, it clings like a second skin and so
transmits the painful bite of the implement being used, whether
is a cane or a heavy military strap, through to the skin s nerve
receptors in the same way as making contact without any
covering.
The beauty of having a towel covering is that the towel itself
has a raised pile in its weave, much the same as a carpet. This
allows a slightly reduced impact on the skin, thus dissipating
it out over a slightly larger area so preventing so much marking
and bruising. However, the pain will still be there as the water
in the fabric has traveled away from the visiting cane at the
same speed as the the incoming cane.
So caned by water in effect. And we all know that water can cut
cakes as there is a hydro knife for automatic fruit cake slicing
in Mr Kiplings.

Vivienne Leigh go there often?
I hope that Vivienne did not start off the antics, there!
Anyone too young to remember Vivienne, just Google her - "Gone
With the Wind" etc
As for judicial canings at the time of Christmas, lighter fayre
might be in order given the Christmas Spirit etc unless the
latter is apllied as per Mr Scrooge and his lack of Christmas
spirit! :))
