I don't do the deposit system, not sure why but probably due to
it being too much like hard work for me.
I had a session today who I was convinced wouldn't show right
from the start, so I went shopping, came back later than
expected and he would have been here bang on time except he got
dropped at the wrong church and I had to make arrangements for
him to be picked up.

Have you started hiring the church for roleplay sessions? >:D
I could definitely see you as an angelic-looking choir girl who
is not quite so angelic being dealt with by an exasperated
vicar... :P

Friend of mine was a horse dealer. He told me that he learned
early on not to make judgements. One day, an old boy rolled into
his yard driving a pile of scrap - he had dirty trainers, grubby
clothes and was generally unkempt - looked like a tramp. He
spent an hour viewing the horses and the horse dealer was trying
to get rid of him as fast as possible cos he saw him as a total
time waster. He departed without buying anything but said he
would go away and think it over. Last we will see of him thought
the dealer. Two days later, he came back, wrote out a cheque for
£70, 000 and bought by far the most expensive horse in the yard.
No, the cheque did not bounce and I was told: "Never judge a
book by its cover."! We all do so, of course, and we do it all
the time - just shows the danger of making assumptions though!

I can see it being problematic. Needs either bank transfer,
Paypal or over the counter cash payment. The first two create a
paper trail for the punter which they will probably not want to
have. The last one is a faff as it means a trip to the relevant
bank which may not always be convenient.

This deposit system is more trouble than it is worth as may pros
have already worked out, I thinkThe vast majority do not ask for
a deposit and paper trail is indeed one good reason why this is
avoided.
Secondly, there has to be an element of trust on both sides and
not so much the dommes but more in the case of the switches from
Spankeefinder, then you are often relying on just a pic of their
backside and a few words the same old phrases - "I really like
being spanked and if you have been a "naughty boy" beware I can
switch and punish you, too." "Be careful what you wish for" and
all that thoroughly non enlightening jazz.
This means that the punter often sets off almost blind in some
cases so trust is needed on both sides.
Next, I and some others would probably say, this is a money
grabbing pro who wants my money before I have even had a chance
to half get to know her. I would be a bit offended thinking:
"Hey, she is a mistrusting person - do I really want to go
there." I and others would at this point probably look in
another direction.
Krystal is right to say just forget it, the whole deposit thing
is more trouble than it is worth and insisting on it will result
in some lost business.

One pro domme who is now almost refusing to book ahead, says on
her web pages that she was getting 50% cancellations with regard
to pre booked clients. She now turns her phone on at 7:00AM
every morning and operates largely with same day appointments.
This has reduced the "no show" percentage to next to nothing but
it makes it impossible for the genuine people who would want to
book ahead because they have to do so.
After a while, the pro should get to know who is reliable and
who is not and then the problem surely largely disappears. It is
not good to get on black lists and most of us would avoid this
like the plague. It only takes one email to let someone know
that there is a problem and this is where a good client base is
worth a great deal. Both parties should respect and value each
other so many of us would not want to let people down.
