I prefer calm music. Like, sometimes I listen to Rhapsody in
Blue by George Gershwin. It soothes me.

I tend to listen to soft rock, because I like the common chord
progressions of rock music, along with the rock beat, but I like
it calmer and not ear splitting. I like it when I can u dear
stand the lyrics and they have a good, possibly deep
message...which is why I love The Fray

like Eminem. I like rappers.

I'm not a big fan of rap, mostly because I can't stand the fact
that most act as though it is necessary to swear often
throughout the song.

[size=8pt]Eminem can really get swearing, but Macklemore doesn't
do it too much. Nothing that would bother me enough to stop
listening to his songs. Sometimes rappers go so fast with their
words so that you can't really identify one word from another,
or merge the words slightly. Same with normal songs. But another
thing I like about rappers is that they usually have a meaning
for how badly they sing. For instance, Eminem has a really bad
life, and so he sings songs that can disturb others. Macklemore
hardly swears, though in some he does a lot. Other rappers vary
- it depends on what they like singing, how they've been learned
and how they've lived their life.
I like singers equally. Every singer kinda puts a message
through their work, same applies for every other artist,
writing, drawing, etc. But going back to what you were saying,
some do get a bit carried away, and do think it's necessary to
swear. I don't think it is.

Eminem, though I don't necessarily love his work, I respect
because of his hard past. Plus for me, as far as rap goes, I
find it is mostly rhythm, lacking melody. Granted, it takes
skill, but no melody seems really present.
Some of my favorite songs are actually from Phantom of the
Opera.
