"Wait! I'm not trying to hurt you!" Irate managed to find extra
speed in his legs and raced across a deserted road that ran
parallel to the alley. He concentrated hard and picked up the
she-cat's thoughts, just, mainly, where she was and where she
was heading to.
OOC: Irate's ability to hear other cats' thoughts is a special
gift that he has.

(Okay, that's fine. If your cat has an ability, then I might
make mine have one, since she is after all called 'Enchanted'
and can't talk. Hm, now I have to think of what...)
Enchanted raced down the street, desperate to outrun him. She
was aiming to go into the forest, where she might be able to
loose him between the trees and bushes. She ran across the wall,
leaping onto a tin and making a loud pitter-patter as she
crossed, and then onto a set of concrete steps. Enchanted new
the town very well, because she had explored it a lot when her
owner left temporarily. [I shall keep thinking about what is
special about her...]

Irate sighed; he had not meant to know more of the she-cat's
thoughts. But he could, and now he knew her name and that she
was mute. He also knew that she was, in some way, afraid of him:
that was why she was running. He charged after her, ignoring the
Twoleg nests and fences in his way. He darted out into the
forest, and downwind of her, slid into a spot where she would
come right past him and probably notice him.

Enchanted kept on running, winding down the streets. I think I
lost him... she thought with relief, putting on a burst of
speed. She suddenly sped passed Irate's hiding place, and seeing
him, lost her balance with surprise and toppled onto her back.

Irate mewed, "Are you okay? I won't hurt you." He searched
within his mind for his friends, and called out to them,
Peacefulwish, Neon, and Strar. Peacefulwish, a graceful
pale-gray-and-white she-cat, had once been a Clan cat, but she
had left after her mate was killed in battle. Her Clan had held
too many memories of her lost mate. Neon, a bright
red-and-orange she-cat, was Peacefulwish's last kit with
Peacefulwish's mate, since Peacefulwish had carried Neon as an
unnamed kit to Irate. Strar, an elderly white-speckled black
she-cat, was Irate's mate and had recently given birth to
Irate's kits.
Irate, remembering his and Strar's kits, quickly pulled back his
message to his mate. Strar was too weak to travel far, plus she
had newborn kits to take care of.

Enchanted looked around her. Everywhere, a light, sapphire blue
smoke was floating. No one except her could see it. A particular
part of the smoke floated over, and transformed into a cat. A
look of familiarity flickered between the two cats, before the
spirit whispered, "You can trust him." Enchanted shrunk back,
but then decided to trust her best friend - a spirit. The blue
smoke began to separate into all kinds of different creatures -
they had all been cats one day, but the spirits had the ability
to morph into anything they wanted.
Taking in a deep breath, Enchanted dipped her and got to her
paws shakily. But she decided not to run away this time - when
she really set her mind to it, Enchanted could be super fast.
Maybe it was something inside her that had willed her to slow
down...almost like a game of tag, only neither of the two knew
about it.

Irate nodded and climbed up a tree until he came to a low branch
and sat down on it, watching Enchanted. He knew the way
Peacefulwish and Neon would come: across branch after branch.
Although it was tiring, they would travel from tree to tree,
because he had asked them to. To them, he was their leader. And
so, even if he was thought by many others too old to be
traveling everywhere, he still did it. Because he was their
leader.

Enchanted flicked her ear as the spirit rose and landed on her
shoulder, in the form of a miniature version of a cat. In steady
movements, the sparkly blue vapour lifted its head to stare
directly at Irate. Being used to this, Enchanted didn't take
much acknowledge of her. As a kit, she had thought this normal.
She had later discovered that other's could see them - it took
quite some time, but she did it. But she would never be able to
tell other's her secret - now, it was just like the flick of an
ear. It was totally natural to her. It was like she didn't even
think about it.

OOC || Yup - you guessed it, gal!
IC || Enchanted looked at the tom with an unreadable expression.
Of course, her mind was working like a million cogs. Her eyes
flickered to the spirit floating around her head. "Stay,
stay...he is good..." it whispered, the voice bouncing around
her like it came out of nowhere, yet everywhere.
