       HouseCat Roleplay (open!)

It was a dark night. The sky was clear, which possibly made the
air even colder, but if the fluffy lump of fur that was a cat
noticed the chill, it didn't show it. It just sat there,
grooming itself with a rough pink tongue. It's fur colour was
hard to make out, but it looked like a colorpointed cat; most
probably a seal point, since that was one of the most common
point colours. This majestic feline sat in the middle of a road,
not caring about anything, it's fur long but not matted - in
fact, you could see a bright, glossy sheen along it.
Just then, a car rumbled along the road and the cat started. It
quickly, but calmly, padded over to the pavement and sat there.
It's name was Ghost, and she was taking a break from the chaos
of her owner's house - their young ones pulling her long fur, or
her tail. She couldn't stand it. So she came out here.

A small feline crept from the open window of a redbrick house,
silently climbing its way down from the fence onto the ground,
soft paws landing on the hard concrete ground, cold and solid.
From shadow to shadow it crept, keeping away from view. As a car
drove past, it headlights flashing, the small cat froze, clearly
showing pure black, short glossy fur. The headlights shone in
its eyes, making them glow a brilliant yellow.

Eyes blazing at the sight of another cat, the young she-cat
stood calmly, stretched out her legs one-by-one, and stalked
towards it. Her whiskers blew in the slight wind, and the fluffy
cat lay her ears back in mild irritation. As she neared the
stranger, her tail flicked in curiosity. "Greetings," Ghost
       meowed formally, dipping her head.

The black cat turning her head with surprise. Her glossy black
fur shone black in the moonlight, and two glowing yellow irises
fixed on Ghost. She flared her nostrils, flicked her tail, and
unsheathed her claws, but no words came from her mouth. Instead
she warily dipped her head in greeting, her eyes not leaving
Ghost the whole time. There was no doubt about it, she was wary.

Stifling a yawn, the seal point smiled. "How are you?" Ghost
prompted, apparently oblivious to the other cat's discomfort.
Her siamese-blue optics flickered to the sky. "Nice night, huh?"
She meowed, her long fur ruffled slightly.

The black cat shifted from paw to paw, and then dipped her head.
She opened her mouth as if to say something, but then closed it.
She sighed. She just wished she could talk.

Irate moved out to the two she-cats, his long fur rippling
softly in the light breeze. "Greetings," he mewed quietly. "Why
are you out here, away from your housefolk?"

The black cat stared at the tom. She had a housefolk - twoleg -
human...whatever they called them these days - but he was
currently not there. She flicked her tail at the tom and then
       raced into the shadows.

Irate growled and raced off after the she-cat.

This 'black cat' was not just a black cat. No, she was
Enchanted. Not literally - that was her name, Enchanted. And
Enchanted had a history. She had grown up in a litter with six
other kittens, all black - both her mother and father were
black. But Enchanted had been born with a deformity - she was
mute. It was hard to express her feels and emotions when she was
mute, though her eyes and face seemed to express it more, and
for some reason she seemed to know more about other's facial
expressions and read and understand them more clearly.
Now Enchanted was racing down the street away from Irate,
clearly wanting to escape from the much larger tom. Her nimble
paws carried her far, but she had short legs which slowed her
down quite a bit. She darted down an alley and leaped onto a
brick wall, briskly trotted across it.
