Feel free to comment on these performances or about the music in
general... Please don't comment on the fact this poll is
worthless and doesn't contribute anything of value to the
community - If you think so - just ignore it.
I will probably not watch the thread, because I'm going on a
journey and the roaming costs are enormous. But I will be
curious to see the results after my return.

Just to start.
We agreed (with my wife) that we love the one done by Dolly
Parton. It seems to be so fresh, simple and innocent. Like a few
simple thoughts from the deep of someone's heart.
The version performed by Whitney is of course more elaborated
and probably more ideal one.

Dolly's version is fine but Whitney really turned the song into
a power ballad. She had the vocal range and power to make it
happen.

Whitney´s version gives me those tingles up my spine that I get
when something is really awesome. Dolly´s doesn´t do it for me.

I'm gonna be a friend with Martin's wife! When I listen to
Dolly's on the radio accidentally 30 years ago, I got goose
bumps.Then internet gave me opportunity to find anything from
abroad 10 years later. I found this video and watched it more
than 10 times. I showed it to my daughter and explained that
this song was made by Dolly. She preferred Dolly's too.

Thanks for voting. It looks like the Whitney's version is close
to more of our hearts than Dolly's version... though the one
point difference is not the significant one.
Special thanks to Chizuko for another video link of Dolly's
version.
I'm on the vacation now so I had little time to visit the forum
(I use the internet only in hotels, otherwise I would have to
pay over 1$ per 100kB in roaming).
