OK, it was unexpected and you look at it differently when you
watch it the second time but why did they put the girl in the
car with him? When I watched it for the first time, I thought
they might have killed the groom and buried him somewhere.

Were you surprised that you would find this kind of plot
twist on an Asian music video?
[/quote]
In fact I rarely see Asian music videos, so I treated it as if
it would be European or from the other part of the world.
Probably I belong to the generation which is still easy to
surprise with such twists, even though I have seen a lot of them
during my life. Maybe it depends on the place I live in, which
is always a few decades behind the West of Europe (for
historical reasons). I can't say it raises other emotions, but
surprise...yes. The new generation is different. I talked to my
adult son - there are much less things which can surprise him
and his colleagues.
Being aware of changes in this world, we still think using old
schemes...

Ok, maybe I am dumb. How does it twist?
I remember the twist ending on this video fooled me back in the
day:

The twist I saw was that the video led you to believe it was
about jealousy over a girl, then the end suggested that the
jealousy was about the relationship between the boys.
The only reason I am not totally surprised by it is that I
watched a documentary about K-Pop in Netflix. (In Spanish it is
a series called ¨En Pocos Palabras.¨ I think the original
English version is a series called ¨Explained.¨) They try to
make the K-Pop videos outrageous and extravagant. This one was
actually visually much more simple than the clips of ones in the
documentary.

Not sure about "Asian", but as to Korea... well, yes. Because of
articles like this one:
HTML https://www.scmp.com/week-asia/society/article/2164130/why-south-korea-so-intolerant-its-gay-community
Mind you, I don't think it's a very good article. For one thing,
it doesn't even attempt to explain anything, not in my opinion,
at any rate. For another, I'd say for a country which only
abolished its openly anti-gay laws about 15 years ago, an
approval rate of 37% for same-sex marriage is nothing short of
fantastic.

The first time I watch the music video, I was speechless
because that kind of plot twist would be the last thing on my
mind. I became interested in Korean society since I befriended
with some Koreans. I didn't spend my time doing a deeper study
about it, however, I could say that it's not a place where I
wanted to be.
I found a blog written in 2012 (not quite sure whether a
Korean who wrote it). I found it interesting. Here are some
passages s/he wrote:
Homosexuality has, for (too) many years, been a subject
of controversy throughout the world. However, Korea has taken a
relatively unique stance for quite some time- Korean society
largely just acts like homosexuality doesn't exist. In a society
where genders are separated eagerly and early, where men - via
their forced conscription into the army - are pushed into
all-male environments for nearly two years at a time, even
acknowledging the fact that homosexuality exists as an
orientation could be awkward to many people. The consequences of
sex segregation go beyond gender discrimination and may obscure
social dialogue about homosexuality.
But attitudes are changing and the Korean media, over the
course of the last decade, has finally begun to represent
homosexuality across its various mediums.
In the world of K-pop, however, there has been very little
progress. With Hallyu resulting in Korean media being exported
to countries that remain even more conservative, Korean pop
companies appear to have avoided much interaction with
homosexuality and its presence in society. K.Will's "Please
Don't" music video features a very clear and inarguable
reference to homosexual love; this is a big game changer.
The issues that homosexuals in Korea face with regard to
societal and family pressure are no joke.
K.Will's video leaves the relationship of the two men
ambiguous, but it appears as if they lived together, and that
the woman has not been around for terribly long. Therefore, it
is not a stretch to argue that the two men had been involved
with one another before one was pushed to marry, a story that
parallels what happens all too often in a country that places
such high value on filial piety.

I feel pity for them who live in such a society.

Thank you for sharing your creativity here. Have you ever
thought about becoming a director or scriptwriter?
Did you mean why the girl was in the car? Just to make
the audience thought that the third-wheel guy loves her, I
guess. At least, that's what I thought.
What did you think?

I'm afraid I couldn't answer your question properly due to
my lack of English proficiency. So, I give you another link of
my most favourite reaction video regarding this music video. I'm
sorry.

By the way, the video that you attached, I remembered it
was very phenomenal at the time.

Thank you for sharing your reaction. And, thanks also for
the information about the series. I don't subscribe to Netflix,
I don't know whether I could find it on YouTube Channel.
