If you have Netflix, check out The Highwaymen

True story of the rundown of Bonnie and Clyde, famous US bank
robbers and cop killers from the 1930's. Netflix has audio and
subtitles in English, German, Spanish, French, Chinese, Italian
-- set it up however you like.
I love it when older actors - Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson
-- work their magic on a great script. This one is a lot of fun
and they are GREAT in it.

I'm currently in the middle of two detective series on Netflix
now. One is Spanish-Galician 'Bitter daisies' ("O sabor das
margaridas") and the other one is British-Welsh 'Hinterland'.
But I'll try to see 'The Highwaymen' if you recommend it (I like
both actors you've mentioned).

They are fantastic in this. And the characters they play are
great -- a bit 'over the hill', too old for what they are doing,
but obviously good at their job. If you like the actors you are
really going to enjoy it
Watch for the reference to Costner's earlier movie -- Open Range
:-)

Great!
It's not just another 'chase and kill' story. The people
involved, their life stories and their dilemmas are what is this
movie about. We have obviously two retired rangers not being
sure if they still can do these things... But also a drama of
the father (Mr. Clyde Sr.) who knows how is the whole affair
going to end - with the death of his beloved son, but hopes the
nightmare of his family will end soon... And the reaction of
ordinary people who treated the criminals like they would be
heroes.
Everything beautifully shot in very climatic landscapes well lit
by the sunset, and in old towns and workers' camps - we can see
how much the makers cared about the details. Sometimes the plot
of action slows down a little bit too much (it's not a modern
style film), but it gives us the opportunity to stop and think
for a while, to understand better the thoughts and actions of
the personages portrayed.
Thanks very much for this recommendation Neal.

Neal, I watched it. wow...It is a real story! I had thought the
name, Bonny & Clyde was from a fictional novel before.
I loved it. I noticed the word, "greener pasture" was the clue!
They gave a message in bottle that said "Headed for greener
pasture. See you around"
The title of the movie in Japanese is The Texas Ranger. The
scene in the bathroom in the bar was cool! He says, "Clyde might
be a king, but I'm a Texas Ranger, you little sh*t."

I didn't understand the name of this site, Even Greener
Pasture, until looking at the scene of the bottle. It means a
better languages website than others. Honestly I had thought it
meant a famous farm. :D

Martin your review is as good as a professional film critic! I
am glad you liked it :-)
[member=8]Chizuko[/member] - very good catch on the bottle
message! Greener Pastures is definitely a phrase we use a lot
in the U.S.. It was interesting to see it in the movie!
There is an interesting old story about the Texas Rangers. One
day a sheriff arrested a man for murder and put the man in jail.
The townspeople were angry, and wanted to break the man out of
jail and hang him. The sheriff was afraid so he sent a telegram
for help. The Rangers said they were coming, would be there on
the next train.
The townspeople started to riot, and the sheriff could barely
hold them back when the train arrived just in time. But instead
of dozens of Texas Rangers to help, there was only one!
The sheriff said "The people are rioting! There are hundreds in
the streets! They have guns and torches! They only sent one
Ranger?"
And the Ranger said, "You only have the one riot, one Ranger is
all you need." And he walked in to town and the people were so
afraid and so respectful of the Texas Rangers, they all went
home :-)
