Frankly, I do not want the many members who live outside the US
thinking that the forum in entirely in the hands of some half
crazed, Trump loving, politics arguing, evangelical preaching,
American.

What's wrong with this Neal? We have an at least half-crazed
atheist, politics-arguing socialist commenting regularly. I know
he's not an Administrator, all we're doing is giving some
reasoned balance. ;)

Jerry, reasoned balance? Next thing we know, you‘ll be linking
Fox News stories or something. Balance? You‘re the one talking
about „our glorious leader Trump“, as if things weren‘t bad
enough. Can you imagine what the members outside are thinking
hearing this? Woah. It‘s probably along the lines of „Oh no!“
And, of course they don‘t want to hear about all this because
they are free, living outside the US, and looking at us thinking
„those poor people.“ ::)

Nothing but love for you guys, and you know I love a good scrap.
But tomorrows announcement is about how we want to try to keep
the threads clear of politics, unless it is already a thread
about politics.
I want this to be a forum where we can write about any topic we
want. But I don't want all of the threads to degenerate into
tirades about Politics, unless of course it is the topic under
discussion.
I am the first to admit guilt in this area. I think that some
of the membership gets discouraged when we constantly get off
topic (which for the most part is normal and fine around here)
but when it always goes into American Politics, it drives them
crazy.
This is entirely my own initiative, no one has emailed me or
lobbied me to do this. Hopefully this will be an improvement.

Sadly, Jerry, your genius Trump is having a lot of puppies all
over the world. His last craze seems to be Yemen. He will do
anything to please those treacherous Saudis and back them up and
destroy everything which still can be destroyed in beautiful
Yemen.
Syria seems pacified, so the Middle East needs a new war by
proxy, Yemen. Cool! Let’s fight Iran there.
Yeah, “let’s make America great again”. No problems to make
Kosher/Hallal alliances. No problem to declare Jerusalem as a
capital of Israel and later cajole Mohammed Bin Salman as a new
buddy. Opportunism isn’t a capital sin after all.

beautiful Yemen.
[/quote]
In what century was Yemen beautiful???
Liberals talk about how these sorts of countries are beautiful
and full of warmth and good food and hospitable hosts, blah,
blah, blah. Have you visited Yemen, Sofia? If not, why not? You
should go there and show your support? And just so we're clear,
Yemen was a disastrous mess before the Americans ever arrived
there. But, as usual, the US gets blamed for everything bad in
the world. Never for any good thing. Of which the examples are
too numerous to mention. It's jealousy, for the most part. Pure
jealousy. It must be sad and dark to live with that mindset.
How has the US affected you life negatively, Sofia? I'm sure
that it hasn't. In fact, you said that you spent time in
California. It's typical for foreigners to come here, study, and
then return home and kvetch about how horrible the US is. I wish
these people would stay home and not come here. I can't imagine
every going abroad and doing the same. It's shameful and
disgusting.
Your biased comments are straight out of CNN International { his
latest 'craze' }. Who says that sort of thing? Biased liberals
who ignore facts, that's who. I've found over the years that
it's best to consult a wide variety of news sources. I'm
guessing that you also believe that every street in America is
overrun with violent gangs. Do you also believe that Trump
worked with Putin to steal the election? I'm guessing you do. By
the way, Elvis is dead, and we did not start World War II, no
matter what your sources in Europe say.
I'd go on about how the kleptocracy there has made Yemen the
poorest country in the Middle East and the most violent but Neal
has a new policy today that proscribes political talk on threads
that were not started as a political topic. And I'm going to
respect that policy.

Dear, Jerry
If you don't mind, allow me to share my opinion in broken
English. I don't know whether you still remember my first thread
on ITalki which talked about my impression on a few Americans I
encountered. Not all of them were bad, but the worst impression
I got is that I felt a bit left behind because I barely
understood the topics they talked about in the so-called
international meeting. They talked about why Christians should
pray for President Bush Jr. (that's rather insensitive to other
expatriates who attended the meeting, including me).
It took me three months to come into a final decision on
whether I would join this community. Some discussions were very
much interesting and amusing, but a few reminded me of the
moment I mentioned above.
Anyway, I took the courage to join eventually and having
fun with some active members here. I hope I don't offend you or
other American members here by being honest.
Thank you for the consideration, Neal.

I think Christians should pray for George Bush. ;D ;D ;D
Don't worry you wont offend the Americans on the board. Believe
me I have tried.

Terecia, you've never offended me. I have always found your
comments to be seasoned with reason, { yes, I tried to rhyme it
} logic, and a great deal of careful consideration. I always
look forward to reading what you have to say.
It's true, as I've been told more than once, that I rant. You
can probably just ignore most of what I have to say here. The
same goes for the incessant bloviating by a certain guy from
California. ;)
