Thanks very much for sharing all these songs, Nikola! Indeed, it
looks like there are completely different types of covers in
other languages: from complete copies to parodies (poor
Italians!). Interesting that you mentioned the communist regime:
we also have many "translated" songs, and I, too, think they
were recorded partly because of the Iron Curtain, but,
surprisingly enough, they produce lots of them even today.
P.S. "Trouba" is lovely, and I must say that "Downtown" by
Petula Clark sounds kind of suspenseful to me thanks to LOST (a
TV series that used the song as an "everything seems to be fine
but there's something wrong" soundtrack), so it's good to have
an alternative that doesn't evoke the same feeling :)

       您好,Kseniaa

       抱歉,現在才在這
       兒寫評論。
I have some songs in mind that were sung in different
       languages.
It was my first Japanese song I listened to when I was a little
girl. It's called Ue o Muite Arukō
       (上を向いて歩こ&#12358
       ;,
"I Look Up As I Walk", alternatively titled "Sukiyaki"). It's a
song by Japanese crooner Kyu Sakamoto, first released in Japan
       in 1961.
