Excellent, good to have you. If you enjoy open discussion you
were eventually going to get banned over there anyway.

NealC, teachers sometimes do get banned or semi-banned, though.
For instance, MonTue has been semi-banned since some time last
week. (Her teacher profile is still there, but her user profile
has been deleted. I believe that means that she doesn't appear
in the teacher search, which means that new students can't find
her.) Mind you, she was banned for a perfectly good reason:
bashing a student of hers on the forum for a review (a positive
review!!!) that he wrote of her. So, she got banned.
Other teachers have been banned in the past, though it's true
they've been reinstated.
Also, I don't know, which teachers might be flagging people?
Guyomar loves to sling mud at people unprovoked, but I don't
think she flags people for expressing opinions she doesn't like.
Maybe the teacher who called Miriam a troll...? I suppose it's
possible. My guess though is that random users get offended and
then flag people, and that leads to bans.

To me a complaint is about ownership.
Random user on the site is he likely to complain? He barely
feels part of the "ingroup", might be afraid to complain. There
might be some complaints from people who feel comfortable
staying there for a while, but Italki is like a revolving door.
I think it has to be the long time posters (who if they are not
teachers, will eventually get banned) and teachers. I think
they feel the ownership, they want to bring order.
Individuals cases, I dont know, I would just be guessing.
MonTues is a bad example as from what I hear (I havent read over
there except for links from here in a LONG while) she basically
blew up over nothing.
