Nikola, you're welcome to a) invent and give out honorary
memberships and b) invite whoever you like. Actually, I'm very
much hoping you will. :)
To my knowledge, Luigi is not a member, no.
Agree with Irena - Neal, please elucidate!
Agree with Chizuko - have never been banned either, not even
temporarily (knock on wood), even though I've repeatedly linked
to EGP, and for the most part, those discussions have remained
visible.
Susan, great idea! I'd suggest you refrain from writing the
words "political" and/or "religious" though, as IMO those may
trigger downvotes/bannings/removal of the discussion.

Just some bits of evidence from my own experience
I somehow missed being banned in April, I didn't get banned
until I started posting threads. Posting two controversial
threads in one day got me banned pretty quickly. I think the
Italki staff reviews the thread titles, we have seen bold anti
italki threads banned in minutes.
I think they investigate and keep track of complaints. Jerry
says they told him how many complaints some of his accounts
received. It is just what I see, sometimes you just know a
thread or a poster is going to get banned - the sad sacks are
only going to put up with so much.
@Susan- maybe it is my intuition? :-)
I don't remember threads being deleted because they mention
other sites or our site. Italki only gets mad if you say
"italki sucks". It seems they don't care if you spend a lot or
have a lot on account with them. They couldn't wait to get rid
of Aliph, for instance.
It interests me that in the recent post guyomar was upset that
people here might downvoting there. Is it her own vanity, she
doesn't like to be downvoted? Or does she really believe that
people are banned over downvoted posts? I don't think Italki
gives a **** about downvotes, that is just something to amuse
the peasantry. If downvotes meant anything Jerry would have
been banned 10 times over! Every once in a while he would post
something pro trump or anti brit and the blood would flow in the
streets. Downvotes didn't mean anything.

Finally, the most controversial part of the post, I guess. It
seems that Italki has no problem reinstating active teachers, or
making sure they don't get banned in the first place. Being a
teacher seems to be the only safe place.
There are teachers there who frequent the discussion board and
decry the chaos. In my humble opinion they are some of the most
active complainants because keeping that board on track and in
some semblance of order benefits them financially. As a filthy
capitalist I certainly cannot blame them for wanting to clean up
their workspace. If I was them I would probably resent the hell
out of jokers like me.
I also don't trust anyone who is still there from April and
actively posts. It is too easy to run afoul of the authorities
and be tossed out without warning. I think they might be
helping Italki police the boards.
I know for a fact I was targeted by a teacher. I would despise
him and plot his downfall but I don't remember his name anymore
:-)
Don't mind me, I have always hated teachers.

Well, if Jerry got complaints over some of his avatars, thatīs
strange. I never got into trouble over my DDR Coat of Arms
avatar over there.

Italki is a Chinese joint. Though utterly capitalistic
officially they still are Marxist-Leninist on the paper!
Try to write something on human rights either in China or Saudi
Arabia! Mention the declaration of human rights you will see how
it works! I even think that the algorithms light up and ban you.
Try it consistently! Your avatar will not save you!

Somebody started a thread "How much do you know about China?" I
was thinking about saying "I don't think I know as much about
China as China knows about me" but I didn't think it would go
down well.
